Pretty sure Nissan filters are made by Mahle.

As you may have seen in other posts, I run a daily driver which is a Nissan Frontier PU.
I guess the filtering of the OEM is ok, but my complaint was that none of my filter wrenches (even the smallest wrench I had and 3/8" "bottom cup" drive types) wouldn't fit. The outside diameter was just too darned small. Once the dealer removed the first one, I have used Amsoil SDF20's. My smallest Filter wrench fits just fine with the Amsoil filter.

You could always try the K&N oil filter too, that little nut on the bottom might make for easier removal for you MoleKule.
