Anyone use them? They sell them at Napa, and they're supposedly OEM filters. They have Japanese writing as well as English written on them, and they're distributed by Altrom. I'm thinking of using them on my Accord since they're cheaper than Napa Golds.

They're cheaper.

I'm not trying to cheap out and put some [censored] filter on my cars, but if it's still great quality for a cheaper price, then why not?

Well buy one and take a picture of it so we can figure out who made it and make sure its not just a dressed up Fram.

I've seen those for sale by the case on eBay from time to time, I've been curious about them too. I found some pictures:

"Genuine Nippon filters are manufactured by an original equipment filter supplier to Japanese auto manufacturers. This filter is manufactured to the O.E.M. standards and specifications required by the Japanese auto manufacturers. Engineered in Japan. Made in Malaysia."

Please do and take a picture of it out of the box. That looks like a silicone adbv and at the low price you're seeing that would be a steal.

Interseting that they say it comes from "A Japanese OEM filter maker" because I see Denso products on Toyotas and Toyo Roki products on Hondas.

If you cut it open, and it has a very unconventional pleat pattern, then it is a Denso.

Are the filters actually made in Japan? Most OE Toyota filters come from Thailand, and most Nissan filters com from China.

I picked up a couple to take a look at them.

They are made by a Japanese company that equipped a factory in Malaysia with Japanese production equipment. All the factory management is Japanese.

Here's a picture of a Nippon (on the right) with a Toyota Denso filter for the same application:

I can't seem to find their url, but they manufactured a wide variety of filters for air, oil, and water.

The one I tore down looked to be pretty nicely constructed.

The one I used seemed to work like the original Honda filter, and it was a perfect fit - just like the OEM.
