Brand new windshield glass, a new wiper arm, and new wiper blades, and it STILL SQUEAKS!!

The glass is a FYG Fuyao, DOT 459, OEM quality, and the previous glass was PPG (DOT 18), had a chip in it.

I have tried three different wiper blades: Denso Designer (on the car now, made by NWB in Korea, NWB stamped on the rubber, they're the improved frame style), before I had Trico Neoform, and before that, Windex wipers from Kmart

The new wiper arm is Nissan OEM

Why does it still squeak?

Please define the word "arm".

There are three parts to the wiper assembly:
1) the rubber (AKA "refill") that contacts the glass
2) the blade that holds the rubber
3) the arm that attaches the blade to the pivot.

Which of these parts are NEW, and which are actual Nissan parts?

Bend the wiper arm so the blade sits straight against the windshield. Even a new arm can be wrong.

Or move to the Southwest

Yes, my definition of the word "arm" is #3 in your parts list. It is a brand new actual Nissan part. Nissan part number 28881-40u00

The rubber and blade (1 and 2) are an assembly. Denso part number 160-3122.

it's the typical rubber-on-glass squeak

Although I had this issue with my Jeep a few months ago, an adjustable wrench straightening out the arm fixed it.

If you think it's coming from the blade, Rain-X your windshield. My theory? The ammonia in the blue stuff strips the silicone off your blades, Rain-X makes everything slide easier.

The problem is not with the glass, arm or the blade it is a slight mis-alignment of the wiper transmission stub shaft. This is common when the wipers are forced against ice or snow, the thin sheet metal of the cowl gets tweaked slightly.

The fix is very simple and free, just put a small adjustable wrench on the flat part of the arm, If the wiper squeaks in the upward motion twist the arm gently and slightly to the right like you were tightening a bolt with a wrench (looking at the wiper from outside the car).
If it squeaks going downward tweak it to the left. That's it 2 seconds and squeak gone.

Before bending that expensive new arm, I would replace #1 and #2 with actual Nissan parts.

Once you do that, the entire assembly should be exactly as it left the factory. Did the wipers squeak when they were factory-new? No.

If after the application of the new Nissan blade the assembly still squeaks, then I would start bending things.

When #1 wears out, it can usually be replaced with a "refill", which is a new rubber that you slip onto the existing blade.

My experience with late model Altima/Maxima, and vintage Pathfinder/Quest is

Cough up the $34.95 for a pair of hybrid blades from your Nissan parts counter

They're quite good

Its only a slight tweaking not a noticeable bend, this is an industry wide accepted procedure. You should be able to use any quality replacement blade on the car.

It squeaks in both directions, up and down. I think it's squeaking at the bottom half of the blade (the side closer to the cowl when the wiper are vertical)

Is your glass clean...........really clean?

Wash your glass, then clay it - just like your paint. Then clay it again. It should be smooth as a baby's bottom.

Then wax it - Collinite 845 is great here. Get ALL the wax off. Do it again.

Then tell us how your wipers work.
