I am really impressed with Lexus customer service. I am in charge of the maintinence on my wife's ES330 and check the fluids every time I gas it up (like every BITOG fanatic). This weekend the transmission fluid looked a little low but wasn't sure if it was because it was colder than usual in Dallas. I crawled under the car when I got home and noticed some fluid on the transmission. I took it to the stealership and they gave me a loaner and sent me home. Service rep called me and said yes the transmission had a bad seal and they would fix it. I just picked it up 24 hours after I had dropped it off and they put a NEW transmission in it. Said it was quicker for them to remove and replace.
I go to the local Toyota dealer for my maintinence but am really impressed with Lexus. On the invoice it says they replaced 4 qts of Toyota T-IV ATF. Is there anything special about a breakin period for a transmission? Do I need to change the fluid out from any break in debris?
