New tool thread

It’s new to me anyways. Toro 726TE snowblower. 2 cycle engine, 26” cut. Basically a Lawn-Boy engine on its side.

Pulled the trigger. The brushless, "smart" battery, and tool quantity selection was just too good to pass up. Ended up $320 with tax and shipping. 5 year warranty, and if I want, a good supply of cheap aftermarket batteries, though the OE batteries are not terribly priced. I also liked the aux tools (sander, air pump, fan, light) relative to what some kits have. I really like all three saws (circular, osc, recip). Only minor knock is the drill isn't a hammer drill, but none of the combo kits have that for this price range (hercules had a hammer drill&driver combo kit with 2 massive 5a batteries, but that was $250 just for the two tools/batteries).

The case is not terrible either, though it is just a plastic box. This doesn't have it, but they do sell batteries with the USB port (I didn't know about these). So I could charge the battery with a USB port or use the battery to charge my phone/CPU etc. That's pretty cool I thought.

@pacstud Looks like you got a lot of tools for your money. What kind of projects do you have planned for them? Enjoy!
Thanks, I'm pumped. I was still using a 15 year old NiCad PorterCable for all my drilling needs. I'll keep it since it's a hammer drill and one battery still works.

I have a fence in bad shape, need to lightly sand and reseal my deck, my irrigation work just got easier, and not soon, but in the next year or so, the Mrs and I want to start remodeling some rooms in our house, so it'll get used.

Once I get a ratchet/impact, I'll be able to do light auto work without dragging the hose out. That'll be nice. Even using the air pump to top off tires will be nice.

Good for you.
Now start monitoring woot. They'll sell Skil every once in a while, usually with battery kits.
Also keep an eye on lowes, they do random kit rebates with batteries included as well.

Astro low profile metric impact sockets with 2 flex head ratchets combo from Jersey Discount Tools. Already used it for a really weird access fastener. Thanks @Hohn, now that bottle of Widow Jane Decadence will have to wait a bit 😁.

Sorry, not sorry! They are the first ones out of my box on any project because they do almost everything the other tools do and a lot of what they cannot.
