New tool thread

About a week ago I needed to remove some hex head bolts that were a bit difficult to reach, but then I tried the ball end of a Pittsburgh hex wrench, and it worked wonderfully.

This weekend picked up both SAE and metric Icon hex sets, already came in handy working on a go kart today.

So I saw this “oil deflector” specifically for the Honda oil filters and had to have it. Couldn’t find it any where in Canada but thanks to a fine BITOG member I now have this in hand.

Yes it was pricey but this combined with a Fumoto valve and you have the potential for a zero mess oil change which brings be joy.

I laugh, because I have so much going on, I forgot I sent it. How long ago was that????

Interesting. Please let us know if it works better than the Honda branded deflector (or the form-a-funnel that I use). So far I have only made a mess once with the form-a-funnel.

Went to Princess Auto to snag a couple things on sale. Cummins oil filter plug. I figured after 8 years of ownership, no more removing the intake ducting to change the **** filter. Then snagged some 6" magnetic dishes for a couple bucks each. My impulse buy was a set of pliers for hose clamps. I have survived many years without but everything I remove those clamps on coolant hoses, I swear and vow, never again.

My buddy has a Honda deflector on his F350 😷

Not new, but bought these last year:

https://www.amazon.com/Capri-Tools-...55264703&sprefix=Capri+wr,aps,783&sr=8-6&th=1

Have used them quite a few times, having reach and leverage can be useful in some instances. Finish holding up and still look good. Highly recommend if you don’t have a set of extra long pattern wrenches. Price has gone up, thinking I paid about $15 less. Would like to have the 22/24mm one, so I’ll keep an eye out for a price drop on it.

I picked up a set of extra long box end wrenches a couple years ago and I use them more than I ever thought. The extra reach and leverage is very useful. Also the zero offset is nice on really tight bolts where it works.

Nice. You'll get good use out of that. (y)

Where did you buy this, wouldn't mind getting one. Always dumping oil on the front cradle on my son's Passport.
