Finally caved and decided it's time to get out with the old, cumbersome, HF holder and somewhat accurate gauge. I will say once the holder is tight, it does hold it's position and is sturdy.

That setup served it's purpose, but I did use my smaller but nicer Starrett 81-241J towards the end after the other gauge was acting up.

Now finally I understand what the hype is about with the Noga...not sure why I waited all this time.

I went with the DG 6160 and FA 1400 2SM metal holder.

Also a Mitutoyo 2358A-10 gauge with .0001 graduations and .0001 accuracy for the first 2.5 revolutions then I believe. 0008" after that. Much nicer to be able to "zoom in" between each .001.

Mopar 2025505140 injector o-ring pliers. I don't believe these are mandatory for Chrysler/Stellantis injector service, but I like tools. Available domestically but these happened to come from Netherlands:

Local pawn buys: a Proto 24" all-sixteenths for $40 and a random (old) tap & die set for $20. The dies are all marked as Thread-It USA. I'm not familiar with Thread-It but they have the look and feel of being way better than Chinese garbage.

oh and the welds seen are from one of our volunteers who's still learning (plenty good for fencing)

Those are only to cut through the Teflon rings on DI injectors and can do more damage than good if not perfectly centered. I had a similar one for Bosch injectors a single edge razor blade does a better job.

D60 turned me on to the Noga bases & I'll never use anything else.....I've wasted to much of my life messing with standard mag bases!!

I went to Lowe’s yesterday and saw Kobalt chrome sockets for .99 cents. Didn’t need a single one of them but cleaned out all the metric and got a few standards too. Got a wrench that dad wanted too. Since I’m on vacation this week I plan on hitting up some more Lowe’s today. Said on the receipt I saved like $193 lol. Total with the bucket was $46 something. Tons of duplicates that I might decide to sell but idk yet. Going to hit up the two other Lowe’s in my town then going to ride to my work town and go to that Lowe’s and then when we head to North Carolina I plan on stopping at a Lowe’s on the way there or back. This makes me wonder are they doing away with Kobalt all together and how will they warranty stuff without individuals? View attachment 291000View attachment 291001View attachment 291002

They were pretty picked over but I found 2 of 13/16 - which is still the right size for both my Nissan and Toyota Lug nuts, and a 20 and 23mm, which are odd sizes but most of my cheap sets don't include those so I grabbed them.

They had lots of 12 and 14mm but I didn't buy any. No 10mm though

Lol. Mine had plenty of 20mm sockets which I did get a couple of but no 10mm and hardly any metric. The ones I went to the next day I went in and there was guys loading up their buggy’s and buckets with the sockets not leaving a single one behind I’m like dang lol. Can’t say I wouldn’t have done the same thing though haha. I’d thought about selling some of the extras off for the same price but I haven’t had a chance to sort them yet.

I agree 100%. I can't believe I've missed out this long but, no time like the present. Was an early birthday present to myself since I have a couple diffs to rebuild as well as a few runout checking tasks.
