The BluePoint tool that never was?
I was turned on to this KTI/BluePoint "MegaHammer" by Andrew at Long Range Gear through my Yukon Installer group.
It seems to me --
strictly guessing -- that BP was going to private label it but decided against it. It's absurdly inexpensive for the amount of steel you get. The main hammer and 4/6/8 head is presently $110 on Amazon with free shipping. It comes in a large, VERY heavy wall cardboard box and I can tell you I couldn't even
SHIP this for $110 via UPS.
I also grabbed the optional 5-bolt and 8-bolt SuperDuty heads which are about $50 each.
The main tool is KTI 70390 with the additional, optional heads as 70391 and 70392.
I
did notice the 5-bolt head packaging had no BP markings
and the manual for the 5-bolt head did not have the BP logo while ALL the other pieces did, example:
So hopefully KTI will continue to sell this as themselves.
Those are 1-1/2" threads and would take a 2.25" wrench:
Everything shown next to my import 10# slide hammer:
The entire assy with the 8-bolt head weighs 72#, so it's not your everyday slide hammer:
More BP tags, for fun:
Now I just need a stubborn unit bearing rusted into a knuckle bore -- careful what you wish for I suppose....
