Cheap import set of 5C collets in fractional hex.

Oddly, I can't seem to find metric hex sizes ANYWHERE. I guess it'd just be nice to have 10, 13, 17 and 18....ok and 21 but maybe I can find a 13/16". Everything else fractional crosses over.

I just up graded my impact wrenchs from an older Bosch and Dewalt. I splurged and got 3 Milwaukees. A M12 3/8 current gen Stubby kit, a M18 3/8 Mid-Torque kit and a M18 1/2 High-Torque tool. Now I can handle anything that I would want to repair, plus some construction tasks.

That’s a heck of a line up! I have all three of those but the 3/8 stubby and 1/2 high torque are the last generation. That new gen stubby looks like it would be a nice upgrade.

So I got these knuckle spreader for the shop who's goign to be doing the new strut replacement. I drove over there today hoping they could get to me and.. they couldn't this makes the 4th time they told me to come over and they would see to the jobs I needed. They've become unreliable and another shop the manager has up and disappeared.. has been there in 3 days.. I asked the tech what's going on and they didn't have a clue.. I feel that ICE got him as I wasn't sure he was here legally.

So now I'm going to give this tool kits to Big ben as I felt bad that the Hardrace camber plates would not work on the van. Along with this, he's going to be installing the struts and Godspeed end links. Plus I'm giving him the New KYB shocks and a few other things that I no long have a use for. in the email to ben, He seems excited about getting these things as I have no use for them and things like these just wont sell due to a limited market size and demand.

In a few weeks were suppose to have installed the camber plates but now we'll be installing the struts and end links.. we're going to make a long weekend trip out of it.. and hit my buddys shop so he can installed the front splitter.

The only tool that would bleed an old 60's MG clutch. Vacuum, pressure, gravity would not get it 100%, that bugger was made in Hades by the devil himself. This tool did it in a few min.

The Corvette C3 fixed calipers were the hardest to bleed in my (limited) experience. Pressure bleeding is the only thing that got me a good pedal. Oh yeah, and set your initial timing and carb idle mixture to highest vacuum.

I hate those brakes with a passion. Just moving the pistons to get the pads out for inspection would pull air into the calipers. Its a stupid design of caliper. The piston seals are more like a wheel cylinder cup than a square cut piston seal.

And the ram assist steering, When a owner complaint is PS leak....I just chuckle & say to myself, Yeah they do that.

The famous lip seal fiasco... The lip seals love to suck air.
The o-ring pistons in sleeved calipers is better, as I'm sure you know.
Europe has had disc brakes forever; Corvette first used them in '65 as I recall.

Disc brakes should be simple.

I just bought a similar set but it was a cheap Chinese one for twenty bucks from Amazon. It's still gotta be better than C-clamps and channel locks though.

Been working on go karts the past few months, removing severely rusted, loctited bolts and nylon nuts. I thought I killed the Williams 12mm reverse mechanism but it started working again a few days later after I cleaned it up and sprinkled some superlube. Before I tried cleaning I picked up a Tekton 12mm, I didnt even know they had a 6 point ratcheting end. I always lose things mid project so duplicates are just fine with me.

And some more Tekton came in from Ebay. This time an old Tekton SAE wrench set "Made in India" from 2009.

The markings and casting font of Tekton looks.. a bit less than professional, but the 1/2 measures up. I might save up for an actual new set.

I have a couple 8” crescents, a roll of sae allen wrenches, a couple needle nose pliers, and another smaller sae set of Allen’s coming in from SK. Half off an already discounted price in their steals and deals section. The crescents were about $8. USA made tools. It was 53 so included shipping. Just in case anyone wants to know about sales.

I got this Robinair side can tap new on ebay for about half of retail.

Cheap imports are ubiquitous but Amazon reviews are spotty at best. It seems most work great a couple times then break. This Robinair feels like quality plastic, as much as there is such a thing.

I have two of these that I used to use quite a bit when I was still using cans. I did have one fail on me because the Shrader valve bent and stuck open which cause me to lose the entire can of refrigerant. I used my back up pair to finish the job. I don't remember if I ever replaced the valve in it or not.

Finally decided to get a cordless ratchet. This seemed like a good deal (it was $20 cheaper a couple of days ago when I purchased) and is my first foray into Milwaukee tools.

I also got a cordless ratchet the other day. However, I couldn’t justify the cost of the Milwaukee and went with ToolPro which is a local auto store house brand. A 3/8 ratchet, 3/8 impact wrench, 2 x batteries and a charger was $100 cheaper than the cheapest Milwaukee skin.
It’s not as nice as the Milwaukee that I borrowed from a friend but so far I’m happy for the price

I have not heard of these but they remind me of Bosch. IMHO you did not loose anything by not buying that red TTI stuff. This guy seems satisfied with the toolpro stuff.

Got this metric set of taps and dies for $40 at pawn. In hindsight there's a couple kits on ebay for $55, although this exact kit appears discontinued so examples are scarce.

I consider Irwin -- especially older Irwin -- cutting tools decent for hand use.

The kit includes M11x1.5 which I find interesting because M11 is pretty rare (and basically identical diameter to 7/16")....although M11x1.5 would be 7/16-17
