New tool thread

I no longer post links because they tend to cause objections. I found the 150 mm version in metric and inches at Taylor Toolworks last night. Also longer models. Today, I found the one with the conversion table for $7 on Amazon. Just look for Shinwa ruler model 13005. I wonder how long it's been in production. I have had mine for 30 or more years.
Thanks, found it and ordered the similar 76752 model. Don't need it or have a use for it but $7 and free shipping so why not.

If it's still the same quality, at $7 it's definitely a very good deal. The 150 mm model is only half a millimeter thin. That means it's suitable for precision drawing and the thin edge throws very little shadow even under unfavorable lighting.

My lovely cousin got this for me for christmas to make up due the busted milwaukee. I'm joking but this is pretty nice.
Packouts are extremely handy and if its anything like 1970s milk crates, they will last 50+ years if not put in the sun. My garage is full of them now.

Dewalt also got some love this Christmas. Retiring my anemic Ryobi Jigsaw for the Dewalt DCS331. The 1/2 impact DCF921 was on clearance at HD, the hand grip feels perfect.

I borrowed a similar, older Dewalt jigsaw from work recently to do a little job. It was a very nice saw, I really liked it.

Vacuums qualify as tools, right? Mother in law got this Dyson V15 Detect for my wife for Christmas. We both like it a lot so far. It doesn't feel rugged but we're pretty gentle on our equipment, so hoping it lasts a good bit.

The batteries die ALL THE TIME but replacements are available. I ordered direct from Dyson because knock-off li-ion (or maybe they're NiMh??) is all over the map. But knock-offs are plentiful

Big Makita fan, here. Just got this as a Christmas present - Makita 18V LED work light. It can be a regular 18” light, or folded out into a 36” light, or hung from the bracket under hood. When hung, the angle is adjustable as well, it can be rotated in its brackets.

I get ya. A guy with two V12s waits for Christmas for a Makita LED light. 🤷🏻‍♂️ 😉
I have to give Santa, or the kids, some room to maneuver…

If you’re looking for sound - the SL has the lower restriction exhaust. It has a bit more exhaust note - but the the sound is the same on both cars - like a turbine and a growl all at the same time -

Glorious!

Bought off Facebook Marketplace yesterday. Bosch GRL1000 laser. This is an upgrade to the traditional transit and grade rod that I use now. It takes 2 people and usually the helper looks like he’s trying to wave a flag off the grade rod while you’re looking through the eye piece. This will be much less stressful and a 1 person operation.

There's another clamp (part #UG125) on Amazon now for $27. Someone please grab it before I spend more $ I don't have.

Motorad 3124 adapter for the "really small" radiator caps -- like smaller-than-Subaru-small. I was just servicing a passenger car that used this size, but for the life of me I can't remember what!

Was dirt cheap thru RA. Stamping on part seems to suggest made in US, but their website is motoradusa.com, so it may just be branding
