New tool thread

Not a new tool, but a tool I think worth sharing.

This window washing bucket has become my go to tool for drainage of so many fluids. Great capacity, hard to spill, heavy duty handle, and super easy to transport fluids of all quantities. And the bucket cleans very easy. I have owned this bucket for liley 20 years, and only recently started using as a auto repair tool.

This picture is of the bucket being used to drain coolant from a GX 470.View attachment 147777
Great minds think alike. Years ago I went to HD right around this time of year and grabbed the largest tub/tote I could for this very purpose. Every spring HD fills the front swing area with organizational products because we're all supposed to be doing spring cleaning.

Since I've sworn off drain petcocks I just cram the tub under the lower rad hose and pull it.

My tub looks almost exactly the same size, but way more flimsy and no handle.

Picked it up for 1/2 price, new. My VIM set doesn’t fit hex sockets very tightly, so I decided to upgrade.

I saw these ion another forum, my local store didn't have them, and prices in different stores varied from $30-$13. I grabbed them for $13, out the door.

Wow they're $11.97 at my local store. What's COO?

That's what they were where I got them, tax took it to $13. Other stores in the area were as high as $29.97. The COO is Germany, it is marked on the package. So the Lowes site is correct. I've had experiences where the site and the package differed. They're a high quality tool, although Vessel at about 3-4X the cost are better.

Showing $29.98 on lowes.com website now (April 2, 12:44)
On the website try different stores in your area. Like I said earlier the prices in my area varied quite a bit from store to store. Even stores a few miles apart.

I ordered 3 sets. One for me and I figure they're good gifts for Christmas or something

As good as Snapon regular lengths are, those long ones suck. They wind up horribly to the point I never use them. I prefer my cornwell set to the snapon ones
Interesting. I mainly use the 5mm and 6mm for relative low torque applications, so we shall see.

My local store listed the regular price at $19.98, just like this one, so it's surprising to hear of stores way above that. Mine were clearanced at $14.97 so I was out the door for $15 and change. They had 6-8 sets.
I can't figure them out. Here within lets say a 20 mile grid the prices ranged from $11.97 to $29.98, I have no idea why. I did however cash in and grabbed a second set. Deals like that are tough for me to pass on, even when I don't need them. I'll get the second set to my son in Florida. I grabbed this too for under $20.

How is the back drag?
The back drag is minimal...
I try and keep my tools clean and lubed, where appropriate. Of course I am not on par with @The Critic; he is on a different level.
I will probably pull the cover plate and add a little Super Lube. I do this wilth all my ratchets. Similar to 5K oil change intervals; cheap insurance.
Nepros sent me this email:

Regarding your question, lube is not necessary at the beginning of using.
But if you want to add a little Super Lube from now on, you are able to remove the plate.

Finally, thank you very much for choosing our products among others this time.

Best regards,

A few random items.

I bought the socket holder for my Astro magnetic 1/4 set, they have become my most used set but I had them on a rail which was annoying to get on and off. This was on sale for $10 so figured I would try it. I had no idea what I would use the top row for, I was hoping my swivel 1/4 set I picked up recently would fit but no luck.

I have some magnetic metric bit drivers that were on one of those bit rails, again annoying to use. This makes them much more accessible but it’s driving my OCD crazy. Going to use it for a bit and see what I come up with.

NOGA magnetic indicator base with a metric indicator, D60 recommended the base & must admit it's far easier to set-up!
The metric indicator will be used to set valve lash mostly (Honda)....No need to convert to over to inches anymore!

Lisle grommet wire insertion tools, Wanted one for awhile!

Snap-on needle nose pliers everyone is raving about.....They now live on my cart ;)
