That is one example but we all know when you buy scan tool for example that is claimed to be a clone it is generally it is a knockoff.
Tools that are clones are in almost every case a knockoff and generally not the same quality of the original.

IIRC Michael Keaton struggled a bit with clones in Multiplicity? ;)

Anyway, new-to-me PH3050B. Now I gotta find a job that really requires an air hammer to test it out..

Snap-on got me again lol 😂. Every Tuesday lol and will get me next week too. Ordered me and my brother in law some more socks too. Also ordered a pearl blue extra long ratchet as well because he didn’t have any extra long so he said I’ll order you one. Bought my boss the same flashlight as well for Christmas he said he wanted one so I gave him one. Both blue of course because we all know that’s the best color lol. Got the oil filter pliers because my Craftsman ones absolutely suck especially as a Subaru tech dealing with mostly small filters. My coworker has this same set so I know they work good. The long cabinet screwdriver is great for hose clamps in weird places and some other things too. And the pliers I got cause I’m working on my plier collection still. And of course the pocket screwdriver aka 11th finger cause you need several of those as well.

New tools for Christmas 🎄. Thanks mom and dad. They listened when I said I wanted hearing protection because using an air hammer or a bazooka for tires ain’t quiet that’s for sure. Heck even just using a regular hammer to beat metal isn’t quiet lol. The rest of my list was tools money or gift cards. I’m happy with what I got. I wanted another kneeling pad to have at the house for when I do work. Then I’m sure the screw extractors will come in handy as well. I know the flashlights will too you can’t have too many of those. The small one I’ll carry at work with my other two lights because this one has a belt holder on it. I might get some other tools today too we have two more Christmas to do today. They wanted to get me some batteries for my Milwaukee stuff but they couldn’t find any so they told me if they do find any they will get me some. I told them it’s ok. They checked every store that sells it and everybody was out of batteries for them.

@AutoMechanic those are some good tools.

The Streamlight, in particular, is a nice piece of gear. You’ll use that one a lot.
I love it so far. Almost everyone in the shop has one this size or the full size one. I definitely won’t let anyone borrow it that’s for sure. If I get another one I’ll probably get it from their site or somewhere else online because I realized how much cheaper they were. It’s nice to have a lifetime warranty on a flashlight as well. I gave $67 each for them but that’s ok I don’t mind helping the tool guy out sometimes.

Recent gift to myself: unopened Snappy metric line wrenches and lightly used fractionals.

The latter have owner's marks and I've decided I love owner's marks -- the tool still works as intended, the marks don't bother me, and they sell for a fraction of used but not marked. I'll engrave my initials on them anyhow, that's just what makes me comfortable and I don't care about "devaluing" my tools....YMMV

Yes. Protect your hearing. There are so many older mechanics that are nearly deaf. Hey, I just ordered that Speed Out kit!

A few gifts from the wife: Mayhew .401 pickle forks, the Lisle crow foot seal puller (they call it "tight quarters") and these Komelon stainless tapes are my favorite and all I'll use. As a fabricator I'm VERY picky about tapes, and I suspect most people are. I keep at least four of these Komelons floating around the shop

In my collection of woodworking tools, there is a Stanley No.7 Jointer plane. Found at a garage sale. $25. roughly 1940 vintage.

Cleaned up, with a Hock blade in it, it's one of my favorite tools.

Not because it's a great plane (it is a great plane) but because the previous owner stamped his initials in the side of the plane body. Someone cared about that plane enough to mark it with their initials.

It was once a prized possession of a person I'll never meet. A person who feels the same way about that plane that I do.

That makes the Stanley special. I like it more because of that.

My aunt bought me this nice Dewalt tool bag. I’m certainly not team yellow but a tool bag is a tool bag I don’t care what it says on it. You can never have too much tool storage. I appreciate the gift. I done loaded it up with some tools I had sitting on the steps for now. Might throw this one in the Escape or the 2004 Camry.

My grandma made me a homemade pillow with a red truck on it. Nothing beats homemade it’s the best. She said she is going to try to make us all another quilt for our birthdays as well. I honestly don’t want to use the pillow though because I don’t want to ruin it or wear it out. I’ll probably display it next to my beetle pillow. She is worried she won’t be able to sew or make things much longer because she thinks she is starting to get arthritis in her hands. I actually have the most recent quilt she made me on my bed right now with a red truck on it too.

New tools today from Lowe’s. The socket rail and the fold up nut drivers are dads he bought for his truck. I bought the rest of it. The oil filter claw is a Christmas present for my coworker Batman he has wanted one and been using mine. I figured since I bought my boss a $67 flashlight that I better buy him a $14 oil filter claw lol 😂. I had originally went in just to get Chinese fingers in the first picture but they had the whole set with the magnet and mirror for $1 more than just them by themselves so I said what the heck for a dollar more it’s crazy not to get the whole set. Then I got an extension I was going to buy one from Snap-on but I can’t see paying that much for it when I’ve had good luck with extensions from Craftsman and other brands before. Then the tape measure something I never thought I’d need in automotive but have needed a ton over the past few weeks so I’ve been borrowing one. They had the Kobalt on sale for $10 the Craftsman one of the same size was $20 so I got Kobalt. Then the wire brushes will come in handy mine were worn out about 2 years ago lol. I could of probably gotten them somewhere like Harbor Freight cheaper but I was at Lowes and Harbor Freight closes at 6 on Sunday. So yeah I’ll have lots of new tools to show up with tomorrow at work. People might think I’m Santa going to give out presents LOL.
