It is. ~$85 on Amazon. Had bonus point credit so was $60. Worth every penny. Is that the 1957?

I recently discovered the wife's truck is woefully understocked with even the most basic of tools. I personally keep all our vehicles with a basic assortment, and YES we use them in all manner of repairs from time to time (this is when I discovered her truck had virtually nothing)
I ordered a few Tekton things and took advantage of HD holiday sales. I've got a couple extras of other things like dykes and a mid length pry bar to add in -- you'd be surprised how often a basic lever comes in handy, at least when you live where and how we do.View attachment 253886
You have to carefully walk down the exact center of the aisle or else things can dive into the cart as it passes close. Was at Home Depot after work and a few items fell into my cart.

I'm tellin' ya, for another ~$90 the Icon BJP1 copy is sa-weet with way more capability
You have some decent pawnshops you frequent. All the ones around me pricing anything with a recognizable name brand into the crack head price range way above retail many times.Another random score from pawn. $10 for everything
-an Exhumer cat's paw from Dead On Tools. I hate carpentry but as a homeowner sometimes it's unavoidable
-random battery cable, can never have too many
-11/16" spline socket, why not?
-some form of test wire holder from S&G ToolAid, I'm completely unfamiliar
-OTC 7995 CV slide hammer puller
-Matco MDS3993 for GM fuel filters
-Thexton adapters are supposed to make it easier to charge or jump side terminal batts
-an NJ90486 GM Ceramic Seal Seat Remover & Installer. This appears to be a Mastercool tool and is maybe for a/c compressor clutches?? Anyone? @clinebarger View attachment 254041
What is their logic in that? I must be missing something. You have some decent pawnshops you frequent. All the ones around me pricing anything with a recognizable name brand into the crack head price range way above retail many times.
It seems to mainly be the corporate chain pawn shops more than anything. I have theories but it would be insulting to the main demographic that lets their pawns go into default in the first place to go out on the floor hoping to take advantage again for their poor decision making. What is their logic in that? I agree. These guys are the only ones EVER in the area in my life -- and I've lived here since age 2 -- to have very reasonable prices. They seem to understand it's about churn/turnover. Why have something sit on the floor for years? You have some decent pawnshops you frequent. All the ones around me pricing anything with a recognizable name brand into the crack head price range way above retail many times.
@Hootbro I am in a similar situation as you. The local pawn chain (aptly named D--k's) has prices at or above retail for most things (e.g., used Dewalt 1/4 impact $125 for tool only...W.T.F!). In fact I can usually get a better price for brand new stuff if I wait for sales at HD or Lowes...and the new tools include batteries and chargers. Hand tools are similarly overpriced and I have never seen snap on, Mac, etc in the stores. You have some decent pawnshops you frequent. When I see any truck brand stuff, they usually have it under the glass cases that have to brought out by an employee to then look at and handle. Store brand stuff like Craftsman, Husky and Kobalt will hit the main floor. Like mentioned, usually pushing pretty close to if not over retail many times.Hand tools are similarly overpriced and I have never seen snap on, Mac, etc in the stores.
And NJ90486 GM Ceramic Seal Seat Remover & Installer. This appears to be a Mastercool tool and is maybe for a/c compressor clutches?? Anyone? @clinebarger
It seems you own a lot of specialty tools, but do you own a pair of KTC c-clip pliers? (not my photo, it comes from a post at GJ)Another random score from pawn. $10 for everything
