It's actually gone up in price slightly very recently. What’s the price difference between ST conventional, and ST synthetic? It can’t be much...the synthetic is already so low as it is.

I just went into Walmart and seen they now have an EP version of Supertech Full Synthetic
I only seen 10w30 on the shelf but they seem to be resetting that part of the storeDid they have a 5w-30?
GDI engines produce more soot, the soot gets into the oil and causes problems like timing chain wear. Doesn't matter how good the oil is if it has a lot of abrasive soot suspended in it, need to shorten the OCI.I know GDI causes carbon deposit on the valve. How does it affect oil? Please elaborate.
10w30 rarely has that I think?No dexos?
That 10w30 above your post isn't Dexos, that weight doesn't qualify. There are other photos in this thread that show the 0w20 with Dexos1 gen2 approval. Stands to reason that 5w30 has the approval as well.No dexos?
We just haven't seen pics of the "advanced full synthetic" in 5w-30That 10w30 above your post isn't Dexos, that weight doesn't qualify. There are other photos in this thread that show the 0w20 with Dexos1 gen2 approval. Stands to reason that 5w30 has the approval as well.
You’re pretty obsessed with the term “fake synthetic”, can you please educate me how much gains can a “100% synthetic” provide over the fake onemost synthetic BLENDS contain minimal "synthetic" usually group III fake synthetic so WHY BOTHER!! fake synthetic super tech is quite economical IMO + a good value!
Doh! Your correct.10w30 rarely has that I think?
Stating the obvious, toyota builds some great long lasting, easy on oil engines; I run 12-15K OCI for my prius; change interval is somewhat related to the calendar month as i do not want to be changing oil in the winterJust curious, does anyone really adopt the 20k miles OCI? If so, care to share experience?
That’s a good, fair price for a good, quality motor oil. But our lives would be so meaningless if we didn’t criticize it...because Walmart, you know.
No need to elaborate. There are probably thousands of posts not only on here, but on other forums, and articles published by big name industry players that all talk about how direct injection is hard on oil. Just google a little thing called API SP/ILSAC GF-6 and knock yourself out.I know GDI causes carbon deposit on the valve. How does it affect oil? Please elaborate.
