New Super Cub - how long before road trip?

There is a guy local to me that just got a new Super Cub, met him at a local meet and greet.
He does some medium distance travels on his, had gone camping a few weeks before carrying everything on his Super Cub. He has a rack on his as well.
He had bought a windscreen (sent from Italy I think he said?) and really liked it, except he had some mounting issues with it and was waiting to hear back from the company (missing a mounting bolt, and something about threads being messed up).


Yes, it's in the works also - at least the planning stages. I haven't quite decided on which one to go with (givi, etc.) and have watched several YouTube videos concerning windshields on this little monster. I'll get back with you on this when I finally make the move.

OK, this is weird, was looking around on youtube, and one of my video recommendations was this video:



This is the same guy I met and was talking about. He also has the trip he did from Houston to Austin on his Super Cub on there.

Creepy how google has it's fingers everywhere (I had used google search engine looking for Super Cub windshields, and youtube pulled it from that).

Yeah, Google is like that - it is almost spooky at times.

Anyway - I've watched several of his videos (on YouTube). Seems like a decent guy, and I like some of his ideas.

I'm lucky enough to live in an area (just south of St. Louis) that has an abundance of (paved) county roads and county highways that can take me about anywhere I'd want to go. The only limitation here is myself (and time away from work and family).

Same here. I can get to Austin, San Antonio and Dallas/Ft Worth without using interstate, problem is, some of the "small" roads in the country here have 75 mph speed limits. Not something I would want to do on a Cub.
