Currently my local Shell gas station wants $2.70/gallon of regular. I'd rather use another brand that's much lower in price than my local Shell. Corporate greed is alive and well in Los Angeles!!!! That fancy gas is outta my pocket book to consider trying it in my cars. It's better to add a bottle of Techron as it's easier on the wallet.

Wow. I saw Shell at $1.63 here. Only cheaper place was Murphy in the Wal-Mart.

I don't use Shell because of the ethanol content. There's (as far as I can tell) an independent station with ethanol-free gas I go to instead. The increased fuel mileage more than makes up for the extra $1/tank cost over Shell.

Wowser, my local Shell station which is the biggest rip off station in this small Northern California town is $2.25.
 
Bought a full tank Sunday morning(17 gallons). It's probably just the placebo effect, but the truck is running FINE. Here in MO all gas has 10% ethanol, so the mileage is the same. I paid $1.64 a gallon. So I will use it when its handy. Today I ran the A/C as the truck was hot after sitting in the sun all day. It seem to handle the low end takeoff with the manual trans better than I recall from last summer.

Maybe they have found that nitrogen offsets some of the detrimental effects of ethanol.

i noticed the same thing w/ my light flywheel it's sensitive at low rpm takeoff. it seems like good stuff. i went to the Shell website and saw something that made me lol

I'm glad in this part of MI no blended ethanol [censored] until you hit the lower west part. Shell gas here is on average the same as all other brands. I fill up at Shell because of convience, and have never had an issue with their gas. my roadmaster loves Vpower and will continue to use it :)
 
Because I want to stir the pot. Both of my cars on this beyond getting 8-10% better mpg and rear end analysis that says performance is better. Now add to that 21 days of higher idle. About 300 to 500rpm.

In my small town, our Shell just got the signs put up withing the past couple of days and it about the same price IIRC. If I were to use it, I wouldn't be expecting anything dramatic.

how can they do that?? cars can only use up to a 10% blend of ethanol.

I would love to take credit for knowing that before I posted it, however it was Google,and paying attention to guys like Mola, that brought me to that knowledge.
 
I know it seems weird but I have been running this fuel in the past 2 tanks in the GF's Corolla and the ping seems to be reduced quite a bit.

It could be a coincidence, but if it isn't that would be great because I have not been able to do squat to reduce the ping issue on this car.

I also use the Premium version in my MarkVIII, haven't noticed a difference, running smooth as always.

I filled up again yesterday and I have noticed that my engine is running a bit smoother than usual when idling. No fuel economy difference noticed yet.

I also noticed on the pump that it says V-Power '91 Octane contains no Ethanol, Silver contains up to 5% and Bronze contains up to 10%.

Didn't know that you could still buy fuel without E. in it... This makes me happy!!!!!
