With the Quaker State Ultimate Durability new re-formulation comes a price increase at my local Walmart ...Now $21.98 per 5 qrt. jug . I hope SOPUS realizes that over the $20.00 mark and more people will simply just jump up to PP due to reduced price difference . Your thoughts ?

Unless QS offers some serious rebates such as their $20 rebate on Quaker State Ultimate Durability.

Or unless the Quaker State Ultimate Durability is in some way forumulated better than PP

Member, jdmstr22, has said he's going to do a voa on the new formula (5w30) so maybe we'll know shortly if Quaker State Ultimate Durability is worth any price increase.

I don't see why they'd jump given that PP is now $24.97. Quaker State Ultimate Durability is still a $3 savings. I'd go for it.

+1 - it's only 50 cents more.

M1 is in all likelyhood not a better oil - so you arent "stepping up".

Oh heavens, how can you guys afford it? Our Walmarts sell conventional for more than that.

We are so getting ripped off!

I will be interested to see used oil analysis and composition of "new" Quaker State Ultimate Durability ...I use both Pennzoil Platinum and Quaker State Ultimate Durability depends on the application , car and mood I'm in .

That's why I'm fed up with Walmart. Unless they have a smoking deal, I'm not even going to bother. When Imperial Oil is offering Delvac 1 at regular price for what Walmart is selling conventional at regular price, I'll pass.

Should be getting used to price hikes across the board on nearly everything. Nickel & dime'ing us half to death has become the American way. Pays to watch and nab the sales when they come along. Or go along with something cheaper that still meets needs.

If Quaker State Ultimate Durability and Pennzoil Platinum were the same price, I'd get the Quaker State Ultimate Durability anyway. Quaker State Ultimate Durability (5w-20) runs quieter / smoother in my Santa Fe than anything else I've tried and I've decided to use that going forward. The noise likely doesn't matter in the long run, but if I can have it quieter, why not?
