I got this in an email this morning, and thought someone might me interested. Mods if this was already posted please remove.

The newest addition to our top tier line of synthetic motor oil is Mobil 1™ Extended Performance 0W-20 for the growing numbers of vehicles, particularly Hondas and Toyotas, for which this viscosity is recommended. It is the fastest growing viscosity segment as more and more car manufacturers recommend 0W-20 for their new and older models.

Our testing on Mobil 1 Extended Performance 0W-20 was the most extensive we have ever performed on this viscosity of motor oil. Mobil 1 Extended Performance 0W-20 exceeded expectations for wear protection and cleanliness. But more on that in coming weeks.

The new Mobil 1 Extended Performance 0W-20 also provides the performance and guaranteed protection for up to 15,000 miles between oil changes* that all Mobil 1 Extended Performance motor oils provide to help extend engine life, reduce oil breakdown and minimize engine wear.

Learn more about Mobil 1 Extended Performance 0W-20, visit their site.

I doubt it.

I saw this at Walmart last Sunday. $2 more than the regular. I don't put enough miles on my car in a certain period to warrant using it.

Maybe when I retire and start taking those looooong trips.

I'll have to try some in my Prius sometime although I already have 10 gallons of the regular M1 AFE 0W-20 stashed in the garage. M1 currently has a $15 mail in rebate for certain stores. Check out the new M1 thread in the Promotions forum.

There are some here at BITOG already going 15-20K on M1 0-20AFE. I do 10K but the oil will no doubt go much longer.

I would definitely try this one, but I have so much "regular" AFE 0W-20 that I need to go through some of that before going for new oil

Guess we will have to get Gokhan to give it the 'alkylated naphthalene' whiff test to be sure

@ 40ºC 44.9

Viscosity Index 173

Sulfated Ash, wt% (ASTM D874) 0.8

HTHS Viscosity, mPa•s @ 150ºC (ASTM D4683) 2.7

Pour Point, ºC (ASTM D97) -54

Flash Point, ºC (ASTM D92) 235

Density @15.6 ºC g/ml (ASTM D4052) 0.839

Once I'm out of warranty, this may be a strong contender. However, I drive 10-12K a year - we've seen that "regular" M1 0w-20 is capable of that.

Good stuff, thanks for sharing demarpaint. I'll be curious to see what they plan on showing. Mobil is usually really good at showing true proof of performance.

btw, who cares about that Chrysler spec?
