I am a bit surprised that the Motul is very dark and the color seems to be little red:

And the strange smell! It must be esters

. I have never had an oil smelling like this.

I hope this oil will perform well with my hard street driving and some track sessions.

Why is oil so expensive in the EEC? Your price is close to $17 per liter. I thought it was due to taxes levied on the product but this price seems to be the same in most of the EU countries. I have seen Aral for €25/liter which is just crazy.

I don't know, most quality synthetics are that expensive here. And Motul is made in EU, so no additional taxes. The producers probably think that people are stupid here. What is worse, it is probably true, because people are byuing it and have no other chance. USA seems to be way cheaper in everything.

Yes, Motul sells in both packages. These metal cans are on French Motul site, while they have plastic in the UK for example, same as those from Australia. Mine is also double ester, but they sell also the old type here.

Just to clarify, your recent UOA on your Audi, was the new double ester Motul used, or the older formula?

WOAH.... 13 Euros for a lousy liter of Motoroil.
At the current exchange rate that is $17.38 for the Liter. **** , you better don't spill a drop of that Platinum laced Motoroil ;-)
And I thought the Mobil 1 0W40 European Formula at $4.95 a quart was bad. I guess I am glad I don't have to buy Oil in Europe or buy the gas there. Of course with Gas prices jumping to over $2.19 a Gallon for the cheap stuff we aren't that far off. Well, okay in Europe the gas is closer to $6.00 a Gallon or around 1.11 Euro per Liter. Pretty expensive but Europeans in General don't drive nearly as much as Americans do and they do have a lot better alternative public transportation then we do.

Sheesh. Don't move to Oz in that case. You'll freak out at paying A$40 for 2 litres of 300V. Or A$65 for Mobil 1 5w50, or Castrol 0w40. Or A$80 for Mobil 1 0w40 or 10w30. Or over A$100 for 4 litres of Redline.

The people who whine about paying more than a few dollars for a quart of oil really crack me up

My, my, my, what nice cans you have. Motul used to be green and now it is red. GC used to be green and now it is red, coincidence (co-inky-dink).

Do you think so? I have asked Motul and they said 300V is suitable for all engines and common use. You cannot buy their pure racing oils in a common shop. All cases of leaks that I've heard about were not well tightened bolts of valve cover etc.

To heck with the oil. I want to know what kind of camera you used. Nice pictures.

Nice pictures really don't matter on a camera. Anyway, this is Minolta A1 and BTW those pictures are far from nice
