2 qts redline 0w20
1 qt M1 0w30
1 qt redline 5w20

Kinda wondering what it might look like in regard to weight. Starting the beginning transition to M1 0w30 slowly and gradually.

yeah its not a dog who's stomach is going to be shocked and upset by new food. if your going to switch....just switch. You are needlessly spending more money on the Redline then wasting its benefits diluting it with oil that has a fraction of the PAO, calcium and moly content.

1.25w-22.5 LOL

Yea its probably not correct because there is some magic calculator BUT
So long as the car is rated for some thing even remotely close I doubt it will matter.

I mixed the other day. I was just trying to blow out some oil I had.My vehicle spec is 5w30 I used 3 qts 5w30 and 3 qts 0w-20 semi synthetic.
Its just a yearly oil change that will likely get less than 2000 miles in a 08 sierra 1500 with a 5.3. With filter it was less than 9 bucks.

Anything mixed (>20wt) with Redline will yield a bump up in grade. They are sitting at 0.3 and 0.2 cst below the limit for a 30.
Mixing is in the air, I just pumped a "long drain" Frank into my beater. M1EP 10w30(1), Idemitsu 0w20(2), AMSoil Classic euro 0w40(1), Supertech 15w40(3).

que ????

Just go ahead and make the switch.
No need for gradually anything.
This place gets nuttier everyday.

Are you still adding Archoil and moly and Ceratec and whatever else additive you have on your shelf ? That's more than a frankenbrew.

Yeah a silly brew.

I asked this question a while back and don't remember getting an answer. Being totally honest here, what is the point of all of this home brew/mixing different oils? Not counting just using up whatever stash you have left for an oil change. I just can't figure it out.

9.3 cst is a 30 wt, and with redline being 9cst (or more), anything more viscous will bump it into the next grade up.
