I noticed that especially slow selling is the Trail 125 and the Dax 125. They have had the same ones in inventory for quite a while with a 500 price reduction. I do notice a ton of Honda Groms and Navis running around my town.

I capitalized on this with my last bike. It had been sitting for almost two years, lots of markdowns. They were asking $10k, I offered that as on OTD and they took it. Dealers are quick to deal with bikes that have been sitting.

I watched a couple YT videos on the behind the scenes at dealers where motorcycles that sit a long time eat so much floor plan money, they are auctioned off in that massive auctions that are unbeknownst to the public. It costs them a ton every additional month these sit. Crazy.

It depends on the size of the dealer, because despite all of the above, some will not budge on price and let them sit. Some car dealers do the same and to me it's seems the big ones, owned buy some big conglomerate group, tend to do this practice. Perhaps it's to show some losses or perhaps they can spread out the costs more effectively.

I see what you're saying. My town is is around 220,000 people plus the surrounding towns. The Yamaha, Honda, Polaris, SeaDoo, SkiDoo, Kawasaki, Indian, BMW and more are all owned by one dealer under two roofs a block away from each other.
