New Model Y Standard AWD

Once they get rid of the glass roofs I may consider buying one.
I have the glass roof and expected to have it tinted or to buy a cover for it but haven’t done so in the almost 3 years I’ve had it. If your concern is heat, it’s not an issue as whatever tint they have built in works quite well at rejecting heat. If it’s weight or something else, well I don’t have much to offer there.

I don’t even notice it, the rear seat passengers get to enjoy the open feeling more but it’s hardly noticeable from the front seat.

I just have a phobia of something shattering the glass, Feel much better with sheet metal overhead.

Kinda disagree. Of course there's a lot of sunshine around here, but after installing the aftermarket headliner, I've never removed it. The car is definitely cooler.

Could be all your sunshine but I’m 6’4”, my head is fairly close to the roof and it’s not a problem with my car sitting out in the sun for 3 or 4 hours before I go to lunch. I know they made some changes to the glass at some point, maybe that’s part of it? Could be the extra height in the Y vs your 3 too. Either way an $80 shade is a pretty easy fix if heat or sun is the concern.

I’ve heard the glass is pretty tough in rollover accidents too.
