Purchased at Walmart for $11.44.

Definitely gives me Pentius vibes to be honest. Most likely VAFI built(made in Vietnam). Some models are made in South Korea. A little extra glue but otherwise a high quality build. Much better than the previous M+H made M1 filters. Highline Warren is handling the warranty on these.

Tomorrow I’ll cut out the media and get measurements.

Glenda, I have a filter cutter that I got from Amazon based on reviews. It looks very nice but I was not really able to cut very well with it. Do you have any advice or tips on using the cutting tools to make them cut better and cleaner?

I’ll be honest, I’ve been meaning to buy an actual oil filter cutter. I’ve been using a hacksaw which is a pain.

You just got to go slow. Increase the pressure on the cutting wheel and spin it around till it feels loose then tighten a little more.

Too much pressure right off the bat will not work.

Looks good. Interesting that it has that little cup under the coil spring. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that before.
Most likely to increase surface area onto the filter instead of having less spiraled spring metal pushing against it.
An interesting find I just realized here after scratching. The bypass valve itself is metal, not plastic like PG or Pentius filters. Perhaps a M1 requested upgrade.
Thanks for cutting!!! I really wonder if the media is different than a "extended" PG filter. The media seems to appear a little more whitish but I don't know for certain.

I think the bypass seal is an indication it may not be the same company, PG or whatever it’s called. Also to me the center tube looks like thinner material than pictures of some PG filters. Those you can see some thickness, the Pentius looks really thin. Maybe the pic was closer and it looked thicker.
The factory in Korea may be making all their own parts, and they differ slightly according to what the manager there wants?

We’ll know more after I cut out the media and get a good look at the center tube thickness.

Looks good, definitely some differences compared to PG but still likely the same factories.

Hopefully a response is given in regards to the efficiency I believe it was ZeeOSix who was trying to get that info.

If it is 99% at 30 Microns it is worth the buy for those like me who purchase oil at Walmart.

I like to spin the filter in reverse as well...
