I can't believe the F word wasn't censored.
I don't care, I just can't believe it.
Excuse me now , while I go laugh my hindparts off, waiting for the next thing to happen.

I can almost hear the outcry of all the young children who visit these forums. I feel especially sorry for all the little girls whose ears just fell off. *tsk tsk tsk*

True. However the Maury Povich show will soon be off the air since that's seemingly the ONLY topic he talks about. Unless it's a holiday, then they have the obligatory show about animals with some employee of a nearby zoo.

Well, Julian, I don't look forward with great anticipation of what I see looming ahead.

As the pre-game movie says in LORDS OF THE REALM II:

"There will be dark times ahead"

Feel free to write...

You want my personal opinion? Ok. *adolescent rant mode activated* You change your conditions to the best of your ability to something you find desirable (which could include obtaining/developing/abandoning, and/or maintaining new and old insight as well as obtaining/developing/abandoning, and/or maintaining new and old skill sets to be employed in enacting those changes [note: you don’t necessarily have to do a thing to your system of goals if you don’t want, although you sure can, just find ways to accomplish those goals if you can’t anymore], along with utilizing support from appropriate people and tools to accomplish the above or support you in some other way, over a period of time... in other words: do what you have to do for as long as it takes) and if you still can't make the dents you find meaningful and are worth the cost of your time/effort/compromise for all your trying and your conditions remain unchanged to a degree you find distasteful (life itself naturally has its ups and downs with new opportunities a lot of the time, but I’ll admit that sometimes this isn’t true), then find a way (ways) to live with (note: NOT necessarily accept as something you want) those specific conditions you can't change for the time being (use procedure above, don’t make me re-type it) and move on. Maybe that also includes a critical look at your system of goals to see if something needs to come or go or be revised (sometimes your goals can conflict with each other or are too unfocused, among other things). It’s not like you can’t ever revisit changing your conditions and tinkering with your system of goals. A lot of people shoot themselves in the foot (or head) way too early but will talk a lot of [censored] to everyone in the mean time for whatever reason. Here's what I was going to post in the thread where the guy killed himself after he got busted by the news crew. I guess it's just as applicable here, maybe that is really what got me going:

I'm sure there could have been many specific reasons why his life wouldn't have been worth living to him with conditions as they were, but that doesn’t mean his only choice was to change the status of his heartbeat. He could have likely made reasonable changes which made his life worth living again, whether he was aware of those options at the time or not (even a lot of very average people aren’t aware of changes they can make to improve the quality of their life or what those changes will actually cost). On the other hand, he may have taken a long time to think through what his experience of life is and could ever be with an exacting (what would commonly be termed as "objective”) degree of clarity and insight into existing and potentially existing conditions (to whatever degree one can actually do this with regards to potentially existing conditions... I happen to think you can make reasonably functional assumptions about what will and will not happen in many instances within certain parameters, the amount of time ahead you are trying to predict being an important one... which actually complicates this issue quite a bit) with full control and then made an informed personal choice to end his life, which I have no problem with (though likely not, especially given how impulsive they are portraying his actions to be). I'm sure you really wanted my opinion on that. Not at all sorry to see this guy off the street if he was messing around with kids though, I must say.

Julian,

Can I get the Cliff Notes® version? I haven't had that type of complete grasp on the universe since some time in the early 70's (visions of Denis Hopper in Apocalypse NOW, "if he dies ..it dies" . At that point my "mind expansive" experiences took the slow road to enlightenment.

This is the “version you are going to get on the internet contained in one paragraph” version. What do you seriously expect? You could talk about this stuff for the rest of your life. Providing context under these conditions is a joke, and if anyone could condense this better under the same conditions, I’d honestly like to see them try (I’m sure someone can, I can be wordy unintentionally sometimes...).

You’re sure welcome to argue with me about all of this if you want; this is just a drive-by shooting, a quick representation of the way one oily guy bounces around ideas. It's not supposed to turn you into anything, and I’m not going to spend a week writing it. There are tons of available resources to jump into at any level if any of this trips your trigger. Think of it more like foreplay; it’s supposed to get you warmed up for something else and maybe give you a bit of something new to play around with if it’s not an old favorite you can enjoy already. Depending on who’s reading this, we can screw around a little too, but we’ll have to leave the dirty stuff out for the sake of public decency. If you have another way of seeing things that works for you, hey that’s great too. If you didn’t already have your own version of this and reading maniacally impersonal and grammatically incorrect dialogues doesn’t wind you up, you can absorb and master these concepts by osmosis; just put your hand on the screen – the tingle means it’s working. Seriously. Give it a try.

Julian ..you need Wealth Bondage. They understand. They have your keen grasp topics like this. You've heard the calling.....

Did he escape Wealth Bondage? = which is allegedly impossible)

Regarding the original subject posted: In Maricopa County Arizona it is my understanding that DNA samples are taken from all individuals arrested on felony charges who are booked into jail. Jail personnel take the sample. I believe the results are used to solve both old and future crimes. This has been done for many years now. I was briefed on this during a tour given as part of a citizens academy program.

rn2fine,
down here, they introduced DNA testing of the prison population, and had great success in solving some pretty horrific crimes.

Frogs loaded in the pot, and the heat turned on.

then a couple test cases where they pressured the entire male population of some small country towns on rape cases. Deal was as soon as the case was solved, all the DNA evidence was to be destroyed, and the evidence not used for anything else. Politicians and Police with their heads on the Idjit Boxes "If an individual hasn't performed the rape, then he's got nothing to hide, and should willingly give his DNA".

Pot got a little warmer.

Now it's all crime suspects (they haven't ruled out traffic crimes), and the Govt doesn't really want to destroy the results if you are found not guilty or the charges are dropped.

Not quite boiling, but getting there.

Stupid thing is with human chimerism (admittedly not incredibly common), they could be discounting people based on where on their body the DNA came from.

Did you just dare me to do something? Motivation is not an issue here. Here’s one for taking a jab at me though.

Somewhere in another life:

"Prost" (you) ---->
cheers2.gif

I have no need for that level and type of expression right now regardless if anyone would read it, and there is a huge difference between a movie trailer or a shot in the arm and real business. (I'm pretty sure I've already mentioned this somewhere if I remember correctly...) Motivations aside, a week worth of writing could give someone just enough rope to hang themselves with if they can and are following anyone that closely, especially without personal applications involved. Nobody's got a giant system they can just lay out in totality that works for everyone. (Does that count as "R"? I apologize...) There are ways of seeing things that can allow people to function more effectively in groups though, and those topics can sometimes be good things to discuss openly (to a degree). Everyone is put together differently to varying degrees and most people have things that they want out of life that the next guy doesn't and vice versa. If someone can lay out a master set of instructions for the human race that was specific enough to do each of us as individuals any good, then all of us must be a lot more similar than I'm thinking and I'm in for a big surprise at some point.

I'm not sure, but I think that I've recognized your work on state unemployment forms. There, I'm convinced, frustrated literary types, even masters level, found the yield in the free market less than they had hoped for in their version of "The Truth - The Great American Fiction According to ME" ..and retreated to the sanctuary of political patronage jobs via their alumni. There they were able to complicate all kinds of text to the point that only they themselves could understand it. Each public document was a sophisticated masterpiece. Their superiors congratulated them on a job well done.

I was the one who back then said something about sundry idiots infesting college Women's Studies programs and other modern feel-good unrealistic ways of viewing the world/society/humanity/etc.

Could someone be framed, using DNA evidence? Get a sample of their blood, mass produce their lymphocytes using tissue culture, add them to someone else's filtered blood, then spray at a crime scene.

You did; welcome to the broken record club. Again, people can communicate a lot of different ways. There is no shortage of examples where I think being literal is critical for success. However, I think it is always preferable to be direct. People will often mistake being direct with being literal. The direct way happens to be whatever way is the most functional for you with regards to getting the job done; the thing people sometimes miss is that you still need to know exactly what you’re after in both cases. I can directly relax in a hammock and think about nothing if that’s exactly what I’m after. If you wanted to say the ways of seeing and interacting with the world which enable you to the greatest degree to in some sense obtain, maintain, and complete your system of goals over a period of time given existing conditions are “truth” and “health” or something like that, I wouldn’t argue with you. How silly it looks to just come out and say all this. Am I being hypocritical? I can’t tell if that’s funny or not. I think I might be talking to myself (in so many ways) again anyway.

Did this turn into an art vs. science commentary? I wonder how many people actually think this thread has been hijacked?
