I just purchased a Jeep 2003 Rubicon " Wrangler on steroids" it has a Dana 44 front and rear diff. w/ 411 gears, I want to convert the diff's.,transmission and transfer case over to Red line but I was wondering how many miles I should put on the truck before doing the switch.I was thinking 2-3 thousand to let everything wear in. Any ideas?

I'm pretty sure that the axles already have syn oil from the factory. I could be wrong though.
Do you have a manual trans? If so the trans is very particular to different fluids. The mopar stuff is $12.00 A QT, Pennzoil synchromesh fluid is the preferred fluid in the Jeep forums.
Torco makes a fluid called "MTF", I talked to them about it and they say it will work in the Jeep manual trans.

Congrats!! The Rubicon is a great trail vehicle out of the box. I have a 00 TJ with 4" lift, Locked front and rear with about everything else from full skidplates to a winch. I would wait a few thousand before switching to let everything break in and then go to Redline. I use Mobil 1 75W-90 Syn in my rear diff, Conventional 80W-140 in my front diff to quiet down the locker noise. Amsoil ATF in my TC and Redline MT90 in my transmission and Schaeffer's in my engine! My Jeep is a melting pot of different oils!
It already has synthetic gear oil in the axles,Dana adds it before the axles are shipped to Mopar.
I just did my friends Rubi a couple of weeks ago...has around 3k on it...good time to drop all the fluids..the axles have a tag on them "75W-140 SYNTHETIC" so thats what I put in..Pennzoil brand..T case got the ATF+4...transmission got the Mopar fluid (Synchromesh Texaco 1874).
OH-YA...I forgot to add ...he went to the Mobil 10w30 with an oversized Purolater Premium Plus and I gave him a free SuperPlug I got from same company for a "Jeep Warming" present
The jeep has an auto transmission and the manual says use 75w90 gear oil in the diffs., but the manual does on state anything about the Dana diff., in fact the owners manual seems to be just a plain Wrangler manual.I will give Dave at Red line a call and see what he thinks.Thanks for all the replys.
Well I just crawled under the Jeep and sure enough the Dana is stamped 75w140 syn 44oz. So I guess that answers that question.The auto transmission, according to the manual should be atf + so I can use the Red line C+ fluid ? Also the transfer case should use the same transmission fluid? This is what the owners manual states, but so far it has been wrong on everything so far so any help would be appreciated.
The owners manual is useless right now..it's a generic from the ordinary Wrangler models...the T case isn't as picky what it takes...the auto transmission on the other hand is very finicky what it has in it...personally I would put the ATF+4 in the T case..very good fluid and a group IV from the on going statistics...and you are warranty safe here...the transmission I would leave it alone till around 30,000 miles then do a drain and filter change with ONLY..ONLY..ONLY..the Mopar brand ATF+4...with the axles just take out BOTH the drain and fill plugs..clean off the magnets on both...and fill with a synthetic 75W-140 of your choice...it's pricey stuffquote:
