I just saw these were in stock at my local HF, I went to buy them but non were on the shelf, there is no space allotted for them yet so you have to ask for them by SKU # 70612. These are the SNAP-ON LN47ACF copy they showed at SEMA. Time will tell how good they are but first impressions are they are very decent.

I’m wondering when this will appear. They sell the ferrules now.

I'd like to try a pair to see how they compare to the Snap On pliers that I own. They work really good on hard to reach cotter keys because of the amount of grip.

I'll be stopping into HF to check them out soon. At the moment their site is showing them out of stock in my store.

Picking up these new ones myself at the next icon hand tool coupon event which will probably be in a few months.

I followed the HF link. Nice looking pliers. What’s strange is when I logged onto my Amazon account the next day one of the first items displayed as something “you might be interested in” was a pair of long nose pliers. I’ve never shopped pliers on Amazon. I suppose it could be purely coincidence.

They are not in stock at my local HF store but I have all three sizes of the Snap-On ones so there is no reason for me to buy the HF ones. I actually have two pairs of the largest SO set.

I have the Snap-On, they are excellent. Stiffer than conventional needle nose, and with more contact area, they work really well. Pulling cotter pins is one example, but they have lots of uses. These look to be identical. I reckon they will work just as well, Icon is generally made pretty well.

It is sure getting this way. When I heard the top mechanics on this site approve of some of the Icon tools, I was dumbfounded. I couldn't believe it. I didn't want to believe it...

Based on their sound advice, I own a few Icon tools and will own more. I also give them as birthday gifts to friends.

I understand your feelings. No one hated Horror Freight more than I did, cheap Chinese crap tools that 99% of don't belong in my box and certainly didn't deserve my money. They are an American company/retailer that went big and didn't go home and with their Icon, Daytona and Hercules tools and walk in warranty are looking more like the old old Craftsman.
I looked at the Snap on pliers and almost bought them but waited almost a year to see how these would be, I have worked more than 50 years without them so whats another year right.
There are some minor differences and the Snap on is better finished in places that don't really matter, time will tell how they hold up but I don't think there will be any issues with them. I paid $26.50 with tax and just priced out Snap on from the website $102.21 Truck price is probably lower but even at $71 is there $46 - $76 worth of difference? IMHO no, the Icon cost the $2 more than the shipping price alone from Snap on.

They have HF in Germany?

Nice looking pliers. I could see and advantage of these over standard needle nose. And have a slip joint and needle nose seems very useful.

I need to get my hands on a set of these.

I used the Snap-On LN47ACF to pull a very hardened spline shaft out of an engine. The metallurgy is very very good. They're hard and sharp.

In comparison, I deformed the teeth on my pair of HF needle nose on the same job. They just wouldn't grip the piece.

In their defense, HF exchanged them no problem.
