New fuel storage cans

I had to watch no spill Jill again just for good measure..

Man did I miss the mark buying this disaster of a 1gal can without doing some research first. I think I paid like $15+ for it at local home/hardware chain as well. Like I say, it's about impossible to use as designed with string trimmer, leaf blower and chain saw tanks.

Can you find a pic of one that is similar to the one you bought? I could probably find you a link to the right spout to make it a non-disaster can. Or I might even have some extra ones on my bench.

I could be wrong, but that no spill Jill can looks exactly like the No Spill brand cans I've seen at Rural King...... .

The problem with the new cans is that removing the spout and just using a funnel doesn't work all that well. Since there is no rear vent it causes the fuel to come out in a way that sloshes everywhere, especially on the 5 gal cans where the opening is right at the top, so trying to pour out of a full can with just a funnel can be a real chore. Usually the fuel either sloshes out, or if you try to pour slowly it runs down the bottom of the can onto the ground/you/your equipment. Another government solution for a problem that didn't exist.

Look at a red safety can. Easier than an old red plastic can with old spout.

You should not keep any gas can in attached garage except for a red safety can.

I am with the Red Just-Rite Safety can crowd. Keeps fuel longer and is to code.

Justrite cans are galvanized, so should last longer the the 'Eagle' ones that are not.

If you don't know how to pour gas...you need the 'hot chick-type can' and take your chances.

Thanks. I've got a few extra spouts from older plastic cans and nothing fits it. This Midwest can also has a baffle glued into the fill/dispense hole, so like said, trying to pour without a spout is a glug glug mess. Pic of can below.

They are available with flexible metal spouts too; 1, 2, 2.5, and 5 gallon, 5/8" or 1" spout. Not cheap, ~$65 on Amazon.
