I noticed at walmart tonight there were these new fram washable filters. I picked one up and it says it can go, IIRC, 200,000 miles with a cleaning every 12,000. It included a spray bottle you are supposed to fill with dish detergent and water. I wasnt sure about the media so I didnt get one.. Has any one else seen or possibly picked up one?

They are made by AEM, they are a K&N knock off. They should filter about as good(or bad) as a K&N and have the same problems/advantages. See the 100+ K&N vs paper posts.(Don't forget the Diesel test.)

Are you referring to the Air Hog Filters?

Any of those oiled reusable filters-- I don't like them.

They are good for sandblasting the inside of your motor, thats about all.

Ok, Its called the Fram SynWash. It says its a 100% synthetic media with a 99% efficiency. It does not state how long it lasts like I originally thought, just to wash it with soap and water every 12k. Also, what I thought was a spray bottle is really a garden hose attachment you put dish soap in and spray the filter out.

Drat...that is about as far away from me as one can get (Fiesta Henderson). I'll have to check the ones on this side of town.

I some them to inNorthern Virginia. Didn't have any in the size I needed though. Looks interesting that it says it can be washed up to 20 times with one a year cleanings.

It would be nice to know if the media they use is the same as the Amsoil EAAs and if they work as good or not. Much better availability.

Amsoil EaA is made by Donaldson. Fram and AEM synthetic media is made by the company that also makes the OEM filters for Caterpillar and Porsche.

We are the elite, is it good enough for us us to use. The question, if you choose to accept it my fellow BITOGers, is, which is the best!
