Also,no one here is trying to make you feel bad or insult you. We understand you bought a new car and you are trying to take care of it as best you can. One thing that most ppl on this forum hate are people who dont maintain their vehicles at all! You're in good hands here

I appreciate everyone's input on this: it definitely put my mind at ease and saved me from having to do unnecessary work.

By no means do I think you guys are trying to insult me; it's great to have such a large community of people concerned with properly maintaining their cars.

More than that though, it's awesome to have people who are willing to share their knowledge with others. As a mechanically-DEclined millennial, my understanding of cars has primarily come from forums like BITOG and videos on YouTube.
