New Car Break-In Oil

Its Mobil 1 I'd run it till the car told me to change its oil.
The old myth is finally dying. Modern engines require almost no break in miles. Some manuals actually specify FULL THROTTLE operation as part of the process!
The rings are seated before it got off the delivery truck. The rest of the rotating assembly is either right or wrong. The only thing you can even imagine you are 'breaking in' is the driveline.
Follow the OLM, and read the manual. That motor will then outlast you.

Do you mean "lugging" the engine? Towing an overweight trailer and flooring it from a bog? Sure, probably not advised.

More to 'break in' then the engine.Differential and trans etc.I'd drive it easy for 500 miles.If you want to change a fliud early do the differential.Leave the motor alone for 3k then follow OLM.

I have always broken in my engines with gentle driving in the beginning and dumping the factory fill at 1,000KM's (600 Miles) and refilling with a quality oil and changing the filter.
Then on the second fill, I warm up the engine and oil to proper temperature with a good long drive and then do a bunch of WOT runs and then park the car and let the engine cool. I do this intermittently over the next few thousand KM's and then change the oil again.
Then I drive it like I would any other vehicle with the occasional Italian Tune-Up here/there.
I drive all my vehicle engines to over 400K KM's (240K Miles) without any oil leaking or burning unless the engine had a design flaw of some sort that is well known.
I go with what has worked for me!

It kinda came through with a Quality oil.600 miles is quicker then what was recommended two decades and further back ago.A 1000 miles was the most common suggestion on draining the first factory fill.Now I'd drain and refill a new differential maybe in 600 miles.

I fully support feeling good about buying American. But you have to get it right first, and buying GM/Chrysler is the very opposite of buying American, it's buying from companies that shamelessly screw over American taxpayers dollars as if they're somehow entitled to our money for their own problems. That's the opposite of the American ideal - you screw up, you take responsibility, you go under.
This doubly applies for a car (like the Camaro) that isn't even made domestically - so it's not even benefiting the American workers, just the lining the pockets of the whiny, begging corporates.
Not against the OP buying a Camaro, btw, the OP can do whatever he wants with his own money. Just against the statement that the Camaro is a "feel-good" domestic, which it certainly is not.

I have always bought domestic ford chevy saturn. Basically because i get great longevity and i like how they feel and drive. I probably will not buy domestic again , i will buy non union built cars from here on out as long as the union money is spent supporting the current attack on american freedom.
omy the break in thing lives on. Ok,,I remember when the salesman said not to drive ur car over 50 mph for the first 500 miles , what a crock of deer p**p that is.
