New Baby

A couple I know recently adopted a Chinese baby girl, and were showing her to friends. A neighbor came by to admire the baby, and asked, "But what will you do when she gets older and starts speaking Chinese?"

I'm white and my wife is asian. I was alone with my kids (ages 1 and 3 at the time) in Wal-Mart and this lady walks up to me and proceeds to tell me how her son and daughter-in-law just adopted a Chinese baby. She then asked me where mine are from. "Louisville, KY and Salem, VA" I answered.
