New Amsoil European Viscosities

LL01FE is full SAPS oil. There is no oil on the market that has LL01/LL01FE in the combination with MB229.51/52, VW 504.00/507.00.

The 229.51/.52 must be an oversight. Looks like LL01/01FE and VW 504/507 can potentially co-exist from a SA standpoint; an oil that is <1.3% can satisfy that category.

VW504.00/507.00 always had some wild limits. But to actually get final product compatible with DPF/GPF, it really has to be low-mid SAPS.
I highly doubt it is mistake. They are praying on people who don’t know what oil to use so throw anything on the paper.
Easy to do when oil is not approved and product is based on shameless marketing.

It's the usual "Meets or Exceeds" with no API or manufacturer approvals from smaller boutique oil companies.
True, but the fact that Amsoil is acknowledging the importance of this chemistry stands out to me.

I think the days of judging an oil based on a VOA are long over.

A year or two ago Red Line's Chemist Roy Howell in a Q&A said they just make one oil for all cars (referring to their high performance line). Well now they have some Euro grades.

Technically all of them listed here can live in co-existence. THE SA requirement is less than or equal to. Meeting the upper limit of SA of 0.8% is still less than or equal to 1.3 and 1.5

In reality this oil would never be approved.
Wait few months and on brand specific forums you will see people using it bcs. it is Amsoil and “real” synthetic.

That's if they even bother getting them approved. That's why Amsoil resorts to their marketing language they pioneered in the industry.

IIRC those approvals are not predicated on an ACEA Sequence which is odd, at least to me. But in practice since they are paired with C3 that limits the ash as well as other parameters.

Does VW branded 504 00 list an ACEA Sequence?

That's up to the oil manufacturer.

Back when Castrol was the supplier to VW, Edge Longlife III had the 504/507 cert along with the self-certified ACEA C3

the current Mobil-supplied 504/507 0w-30 does list ACEA C3

Except for those Mercedes-Benz ones as edyvw noted.
Except as I stated, an oil blended to have a SA of less than 0.8% still meets the rest of the SA requirements.

Conversely, to make edyvw correct, an oil blended to meet specifically, BMW or VW specs listed above with the SA of more than 0.8% won't meet MB's requirements.

Sorry I thought the Amsoil product was at 1.3%. Never mind 😳

Amsoil is just saying what the manufacturers refuse to do for whatever reason; that mid SAPS oils are backward compatible with full SAPS specs. I think most of us believe that Porsche C40 oils are suitable for A40 applications but VW/Porsche refuses to back-spec.
