Anyone know of a reasonable place to get it done? I have a snap on tqfr100a 3/8 torque wrench and today the it feels like its full of rocks.

I need it, as I now maintain ambulances...

Close to mn would be preferable, but I'll ship it if the price isn't bad

Full of rocks? As in something broke inside it? You might have to go back to Snap On to get it repaired if something broke. Or see if anglerepair can fix it. Or just buy a new one. Someone tested the cheap Chinese $20-$30 units and found them just as good as the high dollar ones.

Agree above, take it to Snap-On for a fix. If you're lucky they'll calibrate it too. If they don't then you can calibrate it yourself using the super accurate Harbor Frieght digital torque attachment. It was about $22 after coupons. YouTube was tons of videos about it.

In my experience, I was only able to calibrate in the range that I use most. 80-100 lbs. The range below needed to be adjusted differently, but I can use the HF digital torque and a breaker bar for those ranges.

If the wrench is not broken and it has a calibration hex or adjustment screw, you should be able to calibrate it your self.

Torque = Lenth( in feet) X Weight(lbs)

So measure your wrench from the center of the drive square to the center of where your hand will be. put the wrench on a tight lug nut so its horizontal. Hang weight on the wrench and adjust until it clicks where the reading matches your calculation.

For example if your wrench is 14inches fron center of drive to center of hand position, hang 43lbs with a rope in the center of your hand position and adjust til it clicks when set to 50lbs.

1.17( length) x 42( lbs)=50.31 lbs of torque.
