I only use lasers. Inkjets just dry up. But this person wants an inkjet. Any recommendations?
Need to get an all in one ink jet. Recommend one not junk.

Nope! Hate them.
The Epson Eco tank is the best I've found. You pay a bit more to start, but the ink is dirt cheap.
The cheapest one you can find and plan on replacing it every year or so.
You leave out the important info why dont they want a laser? 
I typically recommend brother lasers for everything.
I'd imagine their inkjets work decently too without too much driver crapup etc.
The newer bulktank style inkjets are interesting too.
I no longer support them but I had over 20 brother lasers in service for 10+ years and only lost 3 (1- suspected power surge and 2-rough handling)

Epson Ecotank 2800 or 2803…

Epson Ecotank ink is very affordable and the tanks don't tend to dry out like H.P. & Canon cartridges. The ET 2800/2803 is currently $199.99 @ Best Buy, Office Depot, Target, Walmart & Amazon. Ink refill kits are $50 and last for ~5,000 printed pages.
Another vote for Epson Ecotank. Pick your model all about the same, but ink is super cheap.
I've owned all the usual suspects. Epson, which I currently have, has been the better of the lot. Every HP I've owned eventually turned into a problem child.
Epson EcoTank ET-4850 & ET-3850 have been amazing for me.
Ink printers are a money pit and expendable. You always run out of ink at the most needed times.
Another vote for Epson. I'm using an ET-2760 and it's been much more reliable than my past HP and Lexmark printers. HP being the absolute worst for ink cartridges emptying or going dry way too soon.
Canon G7000 EcoTank
My HP AIO must be over 10 years old now and works great although 95% of my printing is on a B&W Canon laser. When I thought the HP was dying I looked into a replacement and settled on a Canon G7090, but got my HP working again so put that purchase on hold.

If you get the Epson,
turn on “Quiet Mode”
It will slow down the printing speed, but lengthen the printer head life..
