Need to get an all in one ink jet. Recommend one not junk.

Stay away from HP! Who ever runs on the ticket of cheaper ink cartridges will win the next election. Take down the ink cartels.

Canon printers just keep on running and the ink even in a commercial setting lasts a long time

Definitely look at Brother's with the tank.

I bought one out of necessity for work (needed 11x17 print/copy ability) and have been thoroughly impressed with the ink consumption. My understanding is that once the ink is in the printer, it lives in a controlled environment, so it lasts much longer even when it isn't being used.

I bought another one to replace an old inkjet. Accidentally bought it without ethernet, but it's been holding strong on wifi for several months. The guy that uses it would let me know if it wasn't.

I had an antique HP 2500c that did Super B (13x19) (not what the op wants) but I kept that going 20 years, even did a minor repair.

I still use an Original hp color laser printer because it handles 11x17 and is cheaper than dirt to run

God how do I miss old laser and inkjet printers that could do banners (continuous form) and large full bleed printouts.

That stuff pretty much doesn’t exist

I only use lasers. Inkjets just dry up. But this person wants an inkjet. Any recommendations?
I've had great luck with my Epson Stylus cx5000. However the cartridges have a counter in them which ca be reset with a tool. I will say the epson printers need to be used consistently or the ink dries out and printing is difficult

Brother or Canon. Epson's software sucks. HP consumer printers and ink carts sucks. Brother's software sucks but ours have outlasted HP consumer printers by a lot. Canon's acquisition of OCE seems to be very positive and the OCE tech is trickling down to their business and consumer lines.

I'd recommend spending the extra money on a laser instead. They last forever, are cheaper per page to operate, and toner doesn't dry up like ink does.

Yes, they do tend to be a bit more expensive in up front costs and the toner/imaging units are more expensive than an inkjet cart, but b/w printers can cost as little a 1/2 cent a page and the color ones under $.10. I personally have 2 HP lasers, one b/w printer and one color MFP. I use the MFP for copies and printing out all the color stuff I need to print (usually gaming related stuff) and the b/w for everything else. B/W on the color printer is still more expensive than on a dedicated b/w printer. Still, the per page costs of ink jets is often in the $.50-$2.00 per page, not to mention that if the ink dries up you wasted all that money for nothing.

If you can, look to see if any schools or hospitals are getting rid of older/excess printers. They almost exclusively use laser for cost reasons and will often sell such equipment for a lot less than what it costs to buy brand new. Get some extra toners/imaging units with it if you can. Ink jets are cheap to buy but get you with the ink costs.
