Need some help

Selecting proper transmission fluid or compatible substitute for 93 plymouth laser 4spd auto.

This site reccomends B&M trick shift, I dont think I wanna use that.

This guy(10th Post Down) reccomends dex3 and lubeguard black.

What about ATF+3?

Or should I just get the Diamond Star ATF?

Mitsu transmission? does it work normally?
Mileage? previous maintenance history?

I'm assuming it requires the SPIII.
You can use DexronIII and dose the lubegard as needed to smooth the shift and TC lockup.

Other options are the ATF+3, ATF+4, or any of the multivehicle fluids.

Doesn't it say right on the dipstick ?? What does the owner's manual say ??
A quick call to the local Chrysler dealer service dept. might help.

I havent got the car home yet, But I want to be armed with the proper fluid when I do.

If it's the A604 Ultradrive transmission, avoid using any Dexron fluid, even though that's what it says on the dipstick. Though it'll work, you'll have long-term problems. The A604 transmission requires ATF+3 (or ATF+4) -- this is what the service manual specifies.

Why Chrysler specified one type of fluid in the service manual, and something else on the dipstick is a mystery, and Chrysler should be ashamed of this.

It's a mitsu transmission, Thats whats confusing about it. It does not say on the dipstick I went and looked. And no owners manual to be found.

Ok i've made my mind up, It will be getting the AAP ATF+4. Thanks anyways.
