Both Castrol and Valvoline only sell engine oils in Pakistan. They don't have CVT fluid offerings. Amsoil do sell CVT fluid, but it's very expensive. Almost equivalent to Honda OEM HCF-2 fluid. I found Havoline CVT fluid for a very reasonable price. This is why I am asking about it.Why not just go Valvoline or Castrol? They're at a good price
The manual has you changing the CVT fluid every two years? You can read the details of Havoline CVT fluid

Actually, I am from Pakistan and I have Honda City GM6. Basically, it's a sedan version of Honda Fit that you see in the USA.
The vehicle cover very fewer miles, so I change CVT fluid every 2 years according to owner's manual. Chevron sell their products in my country with the brand name of Caltex and their engine oils are very good. I use them and I am very satisfied. Now I want to try their CVT fluid but found no reviews on this forum. I am wondering why it's not well known in the USA, even though Chevron is an America company.
Manual says 40,000 km or 2 years which ever comes firstThe manual has you changing the CVT fluid every two years?
Yes, the Havoline CVT fluid meets the criteria of Honda HCF-2 fluid. But to be sure like many other posters said check the specs that CVT fluid meets, if those are the same specs as your vehicle asks for you will be fine.
Wow. That backs up my theory that the “lifetime fluid” claims that the manufacturers try to sell us in the States is likely not true.Manual says 40,000 km or 2 years which ever comes first
Well we don’t know that but Havoiline recommends the fluid for the application.Yes, the Havoline CVT fluid meets the criteria of Honda HCF-2 fluid.
You can check the product data sheet of Havoline CVT Fluid. Attaching the screenshot from that document.Well we don’t know that but Havoiline recommends the fluid for the application.
I would take their advice and do maintenance accordingly. Good plan.Manual says 40,000 km or 2 years which ever comes first
I was just commenting that you said it met the criteria of the Honda specification. Nobody but Honda knows what their specification is so you really don’t know if it meets it or not. The best you can say is that Havoline recommends it for that application. You can check the product data sheet of Havoline CVT Fluid. Attaching the screenshot from that document.
