I have an HP Prodesk 400 G2.5 I bought from a school district auction that I have fully kitted out to run my small radio station. I have already been struggling to find a LOW PROFILE sound card, let alone one that has optical and coaxial outputs.

I came across a Diamond Multimedia 7.1 card with low profile brackets, and a daughterboard that has coaxial and optical inputs on eBay, and figured JACKPOT!!! so I bought it.

It says on the box it's compatible with Windows XP, 7 and 8 so I was hoping backwards-compatiblity would be my friend and when I install it in my PC running Windows 10, it would work it's magic and automatically install generic drivers and the card would simply just work.

Well, nope. It wouldn't show up in device manager, the driver install CD wouldn't work, and when I called Diamond the guy told me straight-up that this sound card isn't compatible with Windows 10.

So, I need recommendations on a LOW PROFILE sound card that is compatible with Windows 10, and preferably has optical and coaxial outputs.

I don't think I've seen one in the past 10 years that is both sff/daughter board and comes with optical and RCA. Does it have to be SFF or can you also do external?

The only one I found: https://a.co/d/46O8KsU

I don't know how I couldn't find that on my own, but that one will suit my needs PERFECTLY! Thank you

Diamond and Creative have basically discontinued driver supports for the more recent windows. I tossed away a few sound cards because of that.

These days, just get a USB audio adapters. If it is running docking station fine and monitor audio fine, it is likely good enough for most people. If you want professional audio for recording you would likely not use a low profile card anyways.

I had asus xonar loved it until I didnt.
I think it was w10 that made it into a hissing random problem pita.
