I used to use the $1.99 Quaker State oil filters from Menards and never had a problem with them.

The local Goodwill has a case of twelve QS14612 filters and they're 2020 production so not old by any means and I want to buy them to use.

I could have sworn that the oil filter my car uses (Fram 6607/7317) crosses with the QS14610 and not the QS14612 but checking oilfilter-crossreference.com and Quaker State's own website it says the QS14612 crosses with the PH6607 and will fit my car.

Could anyone on here please double verify that for me before I buy the case of filters? Thanks.

i just pick another filter it crosses too and cross that and it kept coming back to the same one. So id use them. Never heard of those kinds of items at goodwill. That's an odd thing to donate.

The goodwill also has about a dozen of the old Fram Double Guard teflon filters with 1996 date codes on them. I would never run one but I'm tempted to buy one to send for a C&P.

i doubt they'd be bad tbh. Id run one in warmer climates with thin oil. a cut and post would be neat.

Are you referring to the QS filters or the Fram DGs?

The Fram DGs don't fit anything I own the only way I could run one of those would be if I got a remote oil filter adapter.

14610 equals 7317 application. 14612 equals 6607 application. The latter is the shorty version of the former and will work where the 7317 is spec'd.
Anywhere a 7317 fits, a 6607 will fit. Nissan uses 6607 size filters extensively and on SUVs, trucks, etc, when there's plenty of room, they often spec a 7317 size filter. There may be some odd design criteria Nissan uses that says to not use a 7317 because it's "too big".

Nissan specs the 15208-65F0E (6607 size) for my 14 Pathfinder but I run the 15208-9E01A (7317 size) because it fits perfectly fine.

I used to work at a Nissan dealership and I stocked up on 9E01As while I was there but last oil change I used my last one

Don't mess with cross references if you don't need to. If you end up with a mistake and a failure, no warranty will be honored.
What is your application? Is it the Pathfinder? I have a QS filter guide and will look it up.

Looks like you're good to go. 👍

For whatever reason(s) Nissan specs the 6607 size in most cases ime where the longer 7317 will easily fit and work just fine. The filter has the same specs, except it's 3/4" longer, more media.

Personally, never seen a Nissan specing the 6607 where the 7317 didn't easily fit. That the includes but not limited to the 17 Rogue 2.5L I help maintain. I've always used the longer application.
