Need new oil recomendation, driving conditions changed

I recently moved further south. I have a 94 Z28 with the 350 LT1 and 86,000 miles. This car has had Mobil 1 5w-30 from the time I got it at 24k miles. Lots of mods have been done to the car, along with a 3200 stall converter-just so you all know it revs to there almost everytime.

Its getting warm, and now my drive is only 2 miles to work. There are a total of 11 stop signs between home and work also. The temp gauge comes up to normal operationg temp, but that doesn't mean the oil does though. Last time I changed oil, I used Mobil T&SUV, but wally world doesn't have that here.
So what should I use? Stay with Mobil 1, or switch to some other brand (Rotella T, etc)? Which weight for these short trips and occasional trip to the dragstrip?

5w-40 rotella gets recommended alot for those cars, I would give it a shot.

Rotella-T 10w30 is also an option for those short trips. I heard that it can be found at Advance Auto. Might be a good idea to get that oil good and hot to evaporate all the moisture built up from the short trips before you go drag racing.

For short trips use any 5W-30 SM oil
For drag racing use a 5W-40 SL/SM synthetic.

5W-40 T&SUV has been renamed 5W-40 TurboDiesel oil

No problem heating the oil up good. I have a good 30 to 45 minute drive to the dragstrip when I go.
