I need help - my only remote key fob for my 2015 journey went through the washer and now is totally died, I opened it up and there is a lot of corrosion. I need to make a need key, what are my best and cheapest options?

Is it the standalone FOB with push start or the combo FOB/Key you have to insert and turn? If the standalone push start fob, I would recommend Toms Key.

If the combo FOB/Key, I would seek out a local locksmith for that and just expect to pay the tax on that. FCA vehicles are a pisser to try to do a DIY fob replacement most times do to the PIN lock codes that have to be extracted from the dealership tool or through an actual locksmith that has registration in the trade to use special program pass protection to extract it. Many of the so called high level scan tools will have a menu to get the pin, but it will usually require you to go through a third party host that verifies your credentials of being in the locksmith trade or being a dealer level tech.

Given those circumstances I think a local locksmith is your only practical option. Call and tell them the specifics. The dealer might require it to be towed even though they could program a new one with just the vin but will charge you a ton.

I have the standalone with push start. Exactly like this

Update on my key - I took the key apart right after I found out it was washed, cleaned the corrosion with a nylon brush, changed the battery and it still wasn't working but a few days later it started working just like it always had before.
