Need help with ratings

Can anyone tell me what synthetic oils meet the SF, SF/CC rating. Just found out that is what I should be running in my truck. Previous owner ran RP.

those ratings are from the 80s! sf was a gasoline rating and cc was a Diesel engine rating. any oil made today will be better.

The SF rating became obsolete in 1989. The current SN rating supercedes all older ratings, including SF, and would be appropriate for your ride. The CC rating became obsolete in 1991 and only applied to diesel engines. "Just found out that is what I should be running in my truck." FYI, for the proper viscosity, defer to the owner's manual, and not a prior owner, in case that was the source for "proper oil."

My suggestion would be that once you've found the absolutely lowest price SN rated, conventional, name-brand oil of the proper weight for your Raider....you've found the right oil.

Ha, yeah. That's just what it said in my service manual, so I wasn't sure if I needs to follow that. Thanks for clearing stuff up.
