Need help reassembling the rear caliper

Edit: never mind. I put this thing in a proper vice with a heavy bench and strong armed it. Right tools for the right job saves the day.
I am having a hard time getting this really stiff spring into this bracket over. Any suggestions ? Which tools can help me old on to the spring tip while i twist and bend?

I'd do it with a good pair of short needle nose pliers. With the spring out, pull the two ends together with the pliers, insert the long part of the spring into the hole on the left. There appears to be a cutout for the plier jaws, and a place to insert the right end of the spring into the elongated notch. Release and all should go into place.
Wear safety glasses.

Locking needle nose pliers but put the caliper in a vise.

I took the nut off the little L stamped arm and put the spring on both ends and wrestled that L arm on the caliper pushed down on the bolt and tightened the nut.
Vice made this possible.
