Hello All,

I notice the yellow/white substance on my filler cap and tube from condensation in the winter months. I drive 7 miles to works and it is a 15 minute drive 95% is highway, what can i do to help minimize/eliminate condensation (if possible)?

I use Pennzoil Ultra 5w-20 as the motor oil and I drive a 2008 dodge ram 4.7

thanks

I have read this before on the Dodge Trucks. I believe you can upgrade the tube for the oil. I am sure someone will ring in on this.

Drive longer distances.

Check to see that your thermostat is fully functional and doesn't keep the engine too cold.

Change oil more frequently.

As the weather warms up, it should go away as it will take the engine less time to reach operating temp.

They did change the tube, I can't remember what year but it help a little.....it's totally fine I wouldn't spend a neuron worrying about it

okay thanks for the posts i was worried but i guess it's one of thing saying, it' a dodge what do you expect...

Only thing you can do is drive it farther. It doesnt really hurt anything it just collects in that particular spot due to location and temperature differential. If it didnt occur their it would just be somewhere else in the engine.

You already have the updated 310 bhp engine so I dont think their are any factory parts to fix the issue. They had an updated filler tube (to increase the temp of the tube which just moved the moisture somewhere else) for people that complained but I believe that was for the old version of the engine.
