Hello folks,

I have been surfing the web in search of a product that was recomended to my by a friend of a friend. And this guy(who ONLY deals in high end autos), highly recomends this product for hard P/S issues.

The product is called, (and I am not sure of the spelling)..."Slip Kote" by Hapco Products. This product is also supposed to be a non consumer product such as the BAR's Leaks P/S Cure that I can buy at any local parts store.

The only Hapco Prod's that I have found thus far is in Warren, MI and there really is no wedsite.

Slip Kote, is a power steering lubricant/sealer additive for sticky/hard P/S and rack & pinion issues.

Yes, I know that additives are a "Last Resort" before replacing any unit/part and this is what I am thinking...Last Resort!

I have seen only one review of this product under...Hapco Transmission & Power Steering Additive but, not Slip Kote of Slip Coat by Hapco. Anything esle that I have found is vague at best! Kind'a says something right there but, as stated, it's not a regular consumer product and seems to be for the professional...I guess!

Any responces will be helpfull!
Thanks,
CB

You may want to look into LubeGard Red as an alternate. They have some great products, at least as attested to by many on this forum, and as a bonus, it's easy to find.

If you have a leak fix it rather than seal it. Unless you are dumping the vehicle soon. If its other issues, run Auto-Rx (small amount) for a 2000 miles and drain & fill a few time. Maybe drain & fill first then Auto-Rx then drain & fill.

I higher quality PS fluid like Amsoil?

Steering started acting up around Nov-Dec 2011...To date, there are...no leaks, no noises, just stiff steering and poor steering return. Some days, you'd never know there was anything wrong!

1)I have tried LubeGard RED in the proper dosage and let it go for several months. Nothing!

2)Then tried some Honda Power Steering fluid(mixed w/DEXRON), which I have had good success with other P/S Systems(GM). Again, Nothing!

3)Now, I am back to using straight Mobil 1 ATF, which has worked nicely for P/S systems calling for ATF. But, still nothing!

OH, some days are better than others; doesn't matter the outside tempurature(15 deg F or 95 deg F)

I understand from this guy("High End Auto Dealer") that he has had great success with this HAPCO Product including Lexus vehicles like mine(the vehicle that I'm having an issue with).

I may have to contact him again and see if he has any of this product in his dealership or if he can get it for me because, I can't find it!

I have used the Lubegard power steering supplement in healthy units, and the steering immediately felt lighter. I don't know if it'll cure char's sick steering, or buy him time, or do nothing.

The following trademarks were owned by a John T. Frederick, apparent president of a Hapco Products in Frasier, MI and/or Warren, MI. The trademarks appear to have been abandoned for several years.

Google plus suggests that they are still in business with 1-5 employees. Try giving them a call.

Yes, thank you! LubeGard P/S suppliment in which I am familier with, turns other P/S Fluids into Honda Power Steering Fluid which I can buy. Good responce!
