Need Ford Metal Fuel Line Clips

Changed out the fuel pump in my Grand Marquis over the weekennd. Went way better than I was expecting it to.
However, the little metal clips that clips onto the high pressure and return line were rusted away. Apparently they aren't too critical because they were rusted in half - but I'd like to have them there as a secondary method to hold the fuel lines together.

They look like this. I went to Advance Auto and O'rielly and they looked at me like I had 3 eyes.

This image is from the jungle website but would rather buy them locally if possible.

Ford dealer doesn't have them?

The Ford dealers in this area just laugh at you if you go in and ask for anything that is for something older than 5 years. Unless you're buying a $90,000 King Ranch diesel truck they want nothing to do with you.

Should be this number here. Its been 9 years since I have sold any, but they are readily available for a dealer to order.

They weren't doing anything before. I guess if the stainless clips that actually hold the fuel line connection together fail ...

Yes, it is your backup, I would reinstall. Also FWIW a lot of parts people hate looking up older stuff because the cataloging is really poor compared to the newer stuff when it comes to finding things unless, at least with Ford, you know the base numbers. That and a lot of times it is a time waste because the parts are either obsolete or priced way too high.

IIRC OBS Ford trucks didn't get them but somehow we all lived thru '92-96

I'm still pissed they abandoned the plastic clothespin style. Sure, the plastic broke when you tried to remove it but they were cheap and easy. The new style with 8 million little fingers buried deep where you can't see 'em clog with rust and dirt and annoy me. I'm a Luddite

I did a fuel pump last year on my 01 F350 because I had the bed off and it didn't have these extra clips. But it also wasn't 3'' away from an exhaust pipe.

The fuel filter on my F350 and Marquis have the white/black clothespin clips. I have a stack of them. Every time I change a fuel filter I but them and somehow never break them. Back in the day, my old Taurus had a bunch of garbage in the tank and I was changing filters a lot. I got good at getting them on and off.

I remember back when the fuel filters used to come with those in the box because they knew the clips would either break or be teleported to where all the 10mm sockets live. When they stopped supplying them I bought packs of the common numbers and keep them in the bin with the filters to give to people.

It's hard to see EXACTLY how any of these things work or fit outside of application.
By that I mean, it's easier to see how things go together if you have all the parts involved in front of you.
In the part picture (post #1) you can vaguely visualize the flares or edges the clip holds onto.

I was thinking....maybe creative wire twisting should the part be unavailable.

This is one of those situations where the picture in the catalog leaves a lot to be desired. Picture 1 shows an overview shot of the fuel lines. Those letters, A,B,C, etc, then correspond to the smaller more detailed pictures on the rest of picture 1 and picture 2. Then when you click on the 9A317 base number you get picture 3 showing 5 different options because 9A317 is the callout for all fuel clips. So where a lot of parts people go wrong is not reading the notes next to each number and just picking out whatever number they want to pick. The first one is what OP needs, the second and third update to the BA number and then go obsolete. The forth and fifth update to F6TZ-9A317B-A which is still available. And you wonder why us parts people can get cranky.
