Ok. I am a self confessed oil ho. I have 1/2 a quart of Mobil 0w40, 1 qt of Delvac 15w-40, 1/2 qt of Havoline 5w-30. One qt of GC, one qt of BC 5w40, and one qt of Royal Purple 10w30. What do y'all do with your leftover virgin oil? Should I mix them and run them next OCI? Dispose of it? I am currently running Castrol Syntec 5W30 in my two vehicles(Tundra & 2.0 Jetta). Or just suck it up and purchase enough to use a full oci for each oil. ie, buy 4 qts of Mobil 0w40, 4 qts of GC(which would still leave me with 1/2 quart) etc. I dislike being wasteful, but it appears in my jumping around from one oil company to the next I have become so.

Topping oil. Add the BC to your Syntec 5w-30 engines, maybe the RP too. You could combine the Delo and Havoline with some fresh stock for an oci. The GC...well, buy some more for a Jetta OC. The Mobil 1 mixes with any SuperSyn Mobil 1.

I agree with Ugly 3.

1/2 quart is a typical Briggs and Stratton lawnmower oil change. That's what I'd use it for.

You've got your next 4 mower OCI's covered....or just top up like AJ said.

Wait till summer to add the 15w-40 to an oil change...or use it as summer make-up oil...but then your tundra probably doesn't use any oil between OCI's...love those toyotas!

I have 2 quarts of M1 5w-30 and 4 quarts of Pennzoil 5w-30 and nothing to put them in.

Maybe I'll just mix them in with other stuff.

Yea...mix'em & run it.

If you have an in-law with a smoke-blowing GM 4.3, mix the stuff up in a 10w30 Super Tech or Valvoline High-Mileage jug and let them use it.

Willy_G, I second that motion to let the in-law's vehicle have it mixed. Been there, done that, still doing so due to their lack of "proper" maintenance on their '96 GP 3.4L DOHC V-6 oil consuming beast!!!

I have pretty much the same dilema (1 quart Castrol 5w-20, .5 quart Havoline 5w-20, .5 quart Mobil 1 0w-20, 1.25 quart Pennzoil 5w-20, and .25 quart Pennzoil Platinum 5w-30) so most of you guys don't think that left over oil should be combined? If so I'm going to have remnants of unused oil sitting around for a long time.

I'd say listen to TallPaul, or maybe Willy_G's idea, or maybe even askoop.

Heck combine the stuff, run it this winter in your vehicle. I've done worse combos in my biginning engine days, and they didn't blow up, they just kept going and going and going....

Good suggestions, but what does one do with the 7 qts. of Shell Fire and Ice 10W-40 SF, SG/CC, and 3 qts. of Valvoline 10W-40 SH/CD found in the heretofore undiscovered 'Land of Forgotten Oil' in the basement?

Should I mention the 2 Fram PH-8A filters also found?

Ditto on running it in your vehicle. If I have these leftovers, I won't hesitate to combine similar wt/specs as top-off oil to my current fill.

I could mix the thicker A3/B3 or >3.5 HTHS oils = GC 0w30/Mobil 1 0w40/BC 5w40 and even Delvac 1 15w40 together as top-off or part of a summer oil fill.

While the thinner RP 10w30 & Havo 5w30 could be doable as winter..or as last resort, your lawnmower.

Do you have a lawn mower? Some of those left overs might foul the spark plug. I wouldn't put the 0w-40 or the Havoline in there.

So you could use 1 left over bottle each time you change the oil and I don't think anyone would care.
