How is this equipment getting 100V AC to the fan? That's a common supply voltage---in Japan.
It has 3 phase 440v and a giant transformer.
how it gets from that to 100v ac... well electrical engineer I am not.
It is off of either...
a mid 90's Mitsubishi dwc-110HA(iirc)
or late 80's dwc-90c

Have you measured the voltage going to the fan? A 120V fan can operate anywhere from 105V to 130V perfectly fine.

Hmm... Japanese electrical grid spec. First I would check the voltage at the fan's power source. If you don't know the history this could be someone else's replacement fan that was "close enough". Judging from the crud it probably had a short life.

The fan is available from mitsubishi for 400$ + shipping so I'd assume it is the correct fan.
also all the other fans are 100v ac.
It still functions after a cleaning but its making some noise.

I was trying to find a cross referenced fan that wasnt $400.

I’d almost consider checking if you can source the two bearings for it.

what’s the diameter? A 13” server rack fan has a similar look, you’re looking about $140 for one, commercial grade, but it’s going to be on the fringe at 100vac

Peel up the sticker over the hub.
Press impeller towards C clip.
Remove C clip.
Remove impeller.
Note position of spring.
Remove impacted dust from inside.
Bearings likely have part number printed on them.

Ive regreased them before.20220615_145942.webp

Polishing, then waxing the impeller blades and interior fan body, makes future fan cleanings much simpler, with old toothbrush.

Okay, with the spec verified, and if cleaning, greasing, or replacing the bearings isn't an option, I would recommend biting the bullet and getting an exact replacement from a trusted supplier. Especially if this results in any type of downtime. If you kluge something in and it works well enough, you harm the next tech who tries to replace it in the correct way. If the kluge fails, you either get to warrantee it out of your own pocket or explain why the cost is so much higher this time and why there was no warranty on the new parts you're already replacing.
