Hi all, first real contribution here. Posting a recent oil change on my Alicia; 2001 SAAB 9-3 Viggen vert, stock 2.3L Turbo. She's not a daily, so certainly not taxing the oil or filter.

This filter one ran about 13 months, but only 1,465 miles, filled with Mobil 1 0W-40 European. Looks like the old/good Wix XP consist, not "purolatered" yet. Anyone wanna help me/us with the rather bizarre date code? Is it Greek?

Ah, yes, thanks for reminding me. This 41348 was the last of a lot purchased on flash sale. A Napa Platinum 41516 (same spec, just longer) went back on and filled with the new Mobil 1 5W-40 Euro oil. The SAAB H engines tend to run hot and there is only 4 quarts of oil in the system, so I've taken some advice from others in the SAAB community - the longer filter may give some help with just a wee bit more volume (say 0.25-ish quarts extra oil) and filter area (+?%) ...

Looks good. Is that wire backing I see through the center tube? If yes, does this mean the Napa Platinum is / was equal to the Wix XP?

Yes, the NAPA Platinum is the same guts as the WIX XP.
