NAPA OIL FILTER INFO

Vid posted here several times about same time his YT vids on the topic came out. Can save 17 minutes by saying, Napa has changed suppliers/manufacturers for its Gold oil filter line. For as long as I can remember Napa Gold made by Wix, same filters. Now made by Premium Guard. That's it in a nutshell. As noted, Gold not exactly a great value in PG/PG made oil filters.

I do get a kick out of how far behind people are outside of BITOG. We’ve known for years that Wix is not what it use to be and PG quality is top notch. Most of us can look at a filter and tell you who builds it. We knew right away Napa made a change for the better. To bad they price themselves out even with their once a year 50% off filter sale.

My only question is why Napa specs 99%@30 vs 99%@25 or 20 like others that use PG to build their house filters?

I think the 99% @ 30 microns is closer to the truth. PG filters are somewhat in the rock catcher category, but still better than some OEMs, like Toyota for example.

PG website states ISO 4548-12 99%@25 as well as Oreily, so I tend to believe that number. Carquest Premium state 99%+ @20 without ISO. Napa has had the 99%@30 since Wix. My guess is that’s an efficiency Napa wants for whatever reason.
